Though many people may not think of it this way, the Bible is a love story. God is love (1 John 4:8, 16) and the 66 books of the Bible are telling the story of God’s love for His creation – us! In fact, the word “love” and variations of it are used 541 times in the Bible – even more in some translations.
The gospel is the Good News – the news that Jesus came to the earth – God in the form of man – to save us. (John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” and John 3:17 “God sent His Son…to save the world through Him.” plainly state this, as do many other verses.) So, if we love our friends, neighbors, and family, wouldn’t we want to share that wonderful news with them?
If you think about it, God sent His Son, Who then sent us, to share His love – this story of love – with the people we love.

The church in Canby IS a family, desiring to work together to serve God and each other, and to model ourselves after the church that Christ established and heads. On Sunday mornings, we meet at 9:30 am for Bible classes for all ages. Our worship services, focused on the Lord’s supper, congregational singing, and a lesson, begin at 10:30 am.
