Team Rubicon is coming into town to help, free of charge, clean out basements that have been flooded and help those who have been unable to do it on their own. From the Director’s Chair: 2022 in Review

On behalf of the board of directors and our many volunteers of Canandaigua Churches In Action, we want to thank our many supporters over the past year. It is through your kindness and generosity that we were able to help serve our many families in our community and throughout Ontario County.

It is through support like yours that we were able to serve 2,362 families with emergency food. The food pantry has membership in our local foodbank, Foodlink. The pantry is able to access 75-80% of our food supply from Foodlink. Additional food items will be purchased at our local grocery stores to help keep the shelves stocked.

In addition to walk in services the CCIA Resource Room provided rental assistance to 49 families so they could stay in their apartment. The Resource room provide over 700 bus passes and 115 gas cards for those with transportation needs. We continue to offer job and housing search. We provide phone and computer use along with copying and faxing of documents. Fidelis Care, NY Law (SNAP) and Catholic Charities also provide services here at the Resource Room.

Supply A Smile Free Dental Program and Free Smile Day helped 125 adults without dental insurance. SAS continues to hold monthly screenings at the Canandaigua Elementary School. We are thankful for the use of this facility. A special thank you to our many dentists, hygienists and office staff that make this possible.

The CCIA PES Back Pack Program is partnering again with the Canandaigua School District to provide additional food for 160 students during school breaks. Thank you to the staff at the Primary / Elementary School that help make this possible.

Again, thank you to all of our supporters over the past year. Whether you gave financially or held a food drive, your kindness and generosity has helped many lives here in our community.

The annual "Free Smile Day" for Supply a Smile ministry is this Saturday, Sept 10th at Lux Dental (back behind the Catholic Church and Montessori school) 10 Brook St., Canandaigua.

There are still quite a few openings for additional cleanings and other services, and for that day only they will accept anyone on Medicaid also.

Please call ahead at (585) 394-8071 at Lux Dental to schedule a spot. They also take walk-ins, but you will have to be willing to fit into the schedule that is available!
