Dear Families and Friends of Lithopolis Cemetery,
For many years, the Lithopolis Cemetery Association Board has allowed burial space owners and visitors alike to push the limits on burial space decorations and plantings. In recent years, however, those limits have been pushed to the point where it has become problematic for the grounds crew to perform their job in an efficient and timely manner.
Due to the problems that some of the decorations and plantings have been causing the grounds crew, the Lithopolis Cemetery Association Board has decided to enforce all burial space decoration and planting rules as stated in the cemetery’s Rules & Regulations, which can be found on the cemetery’s website: www.lithopoliscemetery.org . This enforcement will start with the Spring 2026 grounds clean up.
The 2026 Spring grounds cleanup is scheduled to begin on or about March 15th. Please refer to the condensed Grounds Decorations Rules and Regulations and Mausoleum Rules and Regulations that are listed below this letter or go to the cemetery’s website www.lithopoliscemetery.org .
Please remember, the purpose of these rules and regulations is to be able to maintain a beautiful cemetery for all to enjoy, and that can only be done if the grounds crew are able to do the requisite maintenance and upkeep in a timely and efficient manner.
Thank you for your understanding and if you have any questions, please call (614-837-4535) or email the cemetery office ([email protected]).
Respectfully,
The Lithopolis Cemetery Association Board
