Our goal is to ensure the church is ready for the day when more Catholic Priests are available to minister to this rural community. The current Sacred Heart Church started in June 1893 when the stone foundations were laid and it was completed one year later. It is now nearly 130 years later, and we need your help to preserve this beautiful old world church made of brick and plaster that is traditi
onally painted. It is essential that any building have a solid roof, firm foundation, management of rain water, and heat in the winter (our historic interior is the original plaster and lathe). In the last 2 years, repairs included a new boiler and a new shingled roof (partially paid for through insurance due to storm damage). All future profits and any donations will be used to provide routine exterior maintenance, minor plaster repairs, insurance/utilities, and upgrading of the electrical wiring. After these repairs are completed, we are confident the church will not require major repairs for another 50 years for weddings, baptisms, confirmation, and even funerals. Those that have visited Sacred Heart have experienced the beauty of this church and understand why we want to preserve it for future generations. We currently are setting up a 501-3C charity. Please send us your email and contact information in which we will not share it with anyone else. Thank you for your prayers and potentially donations.
