El Olam is the everlasting God or eternal God. This name for God appears only 4 times in the Bible. In one passage, Abimelech and Phicol go to see Abraham and Abimelech says to Abraham that God is with Abraham in everything he does. The story goes on to tell how Abraham and Abimelech make a treaty at the well at Beersheba. After the treaty is in place, Abraham plants a tamarisk tree at Beersheba. - NKJV Genesis 21:33 Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God (El Olam). What images come to mind when you think of El Olam? - Lynn H.

Christmas ends, Jesus does not.

The birth of Christ was one of the most celebrated events this past week, with a billion or more people across the globe rejoicing in God's precious Gift.

But the birth of Jesus is only the beginning. We read in the Bible that Jesus would grow up as a child, as a teenager, as a young adult, and then ultimately begin His earthly ministry in His 30s. Just as prophesied in the Old Testament, He would heal the sick, give sight the blind, and preach sermons of righteousness.

But the biggest thing Jesus ever did, was give freely give His life on a cross for the forgiveness of sins. Through that unconditional act of love, we can be washed clean and adopted into the family of God. We are a new creation, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, and walk in the light. We give testimony to the world of what God has done for us, and what He can do for everyone who is willing to hear.

Jesus came to this earth to be born in a lowly manger, and we rejoice daily in this. But He didn't stay a baby. He lived, He died, and He rose again from the grave so that we can have life in His name. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and deserves honor from us all 365 days of the year. The Christmas season is over, but we can still walk with the Savior each day.
