"Members of the church of Christ do not conceive of themselves as a new church started near the beginning of the 19th century. Rather, the whole movement is designed to reproduce in contemporary times the church originally established on Pentecost, A.D. 30. The strength of the appeal lies in the restoration of Christ's original church." -Batsell Barrett Baxter
Many inco
rrectly think the church of Christ is another denomination that believe they are the only one's with the right denominational creed. The church of Christ is simply Christ's church, the church of God, the Christians. The Campbell church of Christ is an autonomous and non-denominational congregation of the Lord's Church. We have no creed (save the Bible itself), no founder (save Jesus), no headquarters (save Heaven), and no clergy/ordainment (save the church itself). The church is the priesthood (1 Peter 2:5) serving under Jesus our High Priesthood (Hebrews 4:14). Each congregation is led by its own self-appointed Elders/Shepherds/Overseers according to the qualifications listed by God in Scripture (1 Peter 5:1-4, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) who serve under the "Chief Shepherd" Jesus (1 Peter 5:4). This is the pattern the New Testament church followed, that the Apostles taught, and that is Biblically authorized. The church of Christ in Campbell can be best identified as the church the New Testament describes. We strive to believe just what the Bible says, speaking where the Bible speaks and being silent where the Bible is silent. We use this method to decide how we worship, work for God, live, and teach. We are always eager to study the Bible to help others find out God's will for man and to make sure we are were we aught to be as well. If you have any questions about anything found here, please ask!
