Our own Alice Benavides went to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip with the Duquesne Campus Ministry. This was her second time going, and here is what she had to say about her trip.
“We were in the town of San Juan de la Maguana, near the Haitian border, and our church was Nuestra Senora de la Esperanza (Our Lady of Hope). I had so much fun teaching and interacting with the kids, and we had so many amazing adventures and experiences, and saw so many beautiful sites. It has been so special reflecting on growing up in a church with a youth program that instilled a sense of community in me, and now being able to serve different communities where we unite through service. Here are few pictures of the staff, or people we met, friends we made, and kids we served during our time there.”
