As we prepare to begin our pilgrimage through the season of Advent (Coming of the Christ Child) tomorrow, let us be reminded that there are as many as 300 prophecies from Old Testament prophets giving alerts to the people of the time that a change was coming. That change would be in the form of a child of King David's lineage born to a young virgin mother.
My hope and prayer is that during this time of waiting in anticipation and celebration of Christ's birth you will invest yourselves in the WORDS of the prophets.
"Home Touch" gives us daily bible readings selected from throughout the scriptures to help prepare us for this exciting journey.
Even though we are not gathering in formal worship at this time, we long for the day when we can return to a more normal life by worshipping together safely.
May the blessings of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be with you and your families as we travel through this Advent season together.
My love to you all
P.Earl

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving in unusual and different ways let us be reminded of the words of the prophet Isaiah in the 41st chapter, 10th verse.

"Fear not, for I am with you: Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my Righteous right hand."

Notice the emphases on the "I's" in the scripture. These words from Isaiah serve to remind us that no matter where we find ourselves or whom we are with on this Thanksgiving Day, even as different as it may be, be assured that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are but a breath away.

God Bless,
Pastor

Surgery Update:

I just spoke with John Chambers. According to Dr. Meyers Jackie's surgery went well. One of the breaks was what is described as a "spiral' break. Hardware was used to secure the break. It will be a long recovery.
Thank you for your prayers. Please continue!πŸ™

Update:
Please be in prayer for Jackie Chambers. She was walking in the field with her dog yesterday when the dog bumped her from behind causing her to fall which resulted in a broken leg (two breaks). Luckily, her son was nearby. The leg was set yesterday and she will undergo surgery at 11:30 a.m. today to insert a rod to stabilize the leg.

May our prayers be for successful surgery and complete recovery.

Praying that today finds you and your loved ones well and virus free. I wanted to e-mail yesterday but my Comcast e-mail server did not co-operate. Every time I tried to send an e-mail, my e-mail crashed.

I do hope that each of you has received "Home Touch" for April, either via e-mail or a hard copy mailed to your address on file. If you did nor receive it in one of these two ways, please let me know.
I would call your attention this morning to the "Home Touch" Palm Sunday meditation for today. I will add to it the additional scripture from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 21: vs 1-11. Additional readings for today and the rest of the week are on the back page of "Home Touch."

Though we are apart for good reason, it does not lessen our desire to be together in worship. During this pandemic, likely the most trying time of our lives, we remain assured that God is in our midst, wherever we are and in whatever we do, in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Take time today, to give some reflection to the Gospels, to read the stories surrounding Palm Sunday and the events of the day. Then, find time to pray this prayer from "Home Touch."

"O God, on this Palm Sunday, we shout "Hosanna" as we acknowledge the King of Kings! We are full of praise because Jesus did not flinch, but "set his face toward Jerusalem" where he knew he would lay down his own life. We thank you for this gift of supreme love. It is in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Our many thanks to Alishah Hardway for providing the Sunday sermon on Facebook Live as we continue in our cautious time of social distancing.
May the Lord bless you and keep you safe.
P.Earl
