Most of you not only have parents interred in Marlow, but have grandparents and great grandparents, and other relatives. Families gather to locate their ancestors’ grave sites and maybe learn a little about the history of the Marlow Community. Sharing your heritage with the younger generation and instilling in them respect for the grave sites is what will help keep Marlow Cemetery a beautiful cemetery. Some of the headstones are very old and have beautiful historic markings.

Marlow, share memories, connect with family, neighbors, as well as share photos and other information. Have you inherited photos of unknown people? Bring them as there may be people at the gathering who can identify them.

WOULD YOU LIKE US TO EMAIL YOU THE LETTER NEXT YEAR?
If you would like the annual letter emailed, please email me your address to the [email protected]. I will add you to the contact list for letters and updates. This will help save us postage, and it is an easy way for you to share with your family.

Marlow Cemetery has a page! If you are on Facebook, please go like and follow us. We posted pictures of the storm damage, cleanup, and we will be posting this letter, which you can share with your family who might be interested in attending.

Marlow Cemetery suffered tree damage on May 6, 2025, from the EF0 tornado that spun through our community. Thank God only some structures and trees were damaged. There were no injuries to the people in our community.

Virgil Wall with Wall’s Tree Service from Gause area was called just a few hours after the storm and ask to please come assist us. When I spoke with Virgil, he was out of town but headed right over the next morning bright and early to begin the cleanup. We want to thank him and his amazing crew who did fantastic job right before Mother’s Day weekend.

Thank you, we greatly appreciate Wall Tree Service getting on the job so quickly. Before and after pictures below

This past year we have had two workdays, with volunteers, who assisted with clean up of the cemetery, as well as updating our records by reviewing each gravesite. We got about half of the gravesites documented.

Most of you not only have parents interred in Marlow, but may have grandparents and great grandparents, cousins and so one. It is a journey in connecting with your heritage in visiting these gravesties. Some are very old and have beautiful markings.

After the meal you will have a great opportunity to meet with other people who have ancestors in Marlow, share memories, connect with family, neighbors, as well as share photos and other information.

Great summer activity to bring your grandchildren and family, to locate their ancestors’ gravesites and maybe learn a little history of the Marlow Community.

Thank you Nan McAnulty and Ralph for clearing the Marlow Cemetery of all the tree limbs and debris caused by last weeks storm. It hit the cemetery pretty bad, but Ralph and his crew of Racey and James got it done! Ralph and his guys once again to the rescue! You are all greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We may need a work day to pick up some of the small stuff but man did it look great today!

The Marlow Cemetery Board has scheduled a Marlow Cemetery Beautification Day on November 12, 2022. The day begins at 8:00 AM to Noon. • Pick up debris, wilted flowers, trash etc. in the cemetery.
• Work with a group to update our burial lists, locate and record unmarked graves, and GPS them for further research.
• Work with a group to catalog headstones in need of repair/extra care.
• Bring gloves, tools for chopping weeds, chain saw, clippers and such.
• Wear appropriate clothing to prevent injury. Closed toe shoes are recommended, as there are fire ants, grass burs and other things in the cemetery.
