A PLEA FOR PURITY — PART 1

God has called us to something greater than simply following the standards of the world. He has called us to holiness, sanctification, and a life that pleases Him.

This Sunday, we’ll look at 1 Thessalonians 4:1–8 and consider what it means to live a life of purity and honor before God.

What does a pastor pray for when he prays for his church?

This Sunday, we’ll look at “A Pastor’s Prayer” from 1 Thessalonians 3:11–13 and discover three things every believer should desire:

🙏 A Perfecting Faith — Growing deeper in God’s Word
❤️ A Prospering Love — Increasing and abounding in love toward one another and even our enemies
🕊️ A Purifying Hope — Living with our hearts focused on the return of Jesus Christ

Paul’s prayer reminds us that God desires to grow our faith, increase our love, and prepare our hearts for Christ’s return.

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:13

What happens when life, circumstances, or even the enemy tries to pull us away?

Paul reminds us that a faithful servant of Christ must:

❤️ **LOVE PEOPLE**
⚔️ **UNDERSTAND THE ENEMY**
👑 **ANTICIPATE THE LORD**

Satan may hinder. Circumstances may separate. But nothing should change our love for people, our faithfulness to Christ, or our hope in His coming!
