Chalk Level will have our combined Thanksgiving and Christmas meal on Dec 7 immediately after church. Everyone is welcome and invited, it is a bring a dish and bring an appetite meal. “concerning His Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, who was designated as the Son of God in power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,”
— Romans 1:3-4

Notice the word “designated”.
In the original language it is “horizo” which is the word we get horizon from. Jesus was designated or declared to be the Son of God based upon His Resurrection from the dead.
His resurrection was a clear horizon line or a demarcation line that separates Jesus from the rest of humanity just as the horizon is a demarcation line between earth and sky. Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is clearly irrefutable evidence that He is the Son of God. Others have been raised from death but Jesus raised Himself from His Own power not from something someone else did.
