Cease Murder Diplomats (CMD)

Cease Murder Diplomats (CMD) CMD is driven by passion and committed to implementing solutions that will save lives and bring the “Unity” back to community. What is a Diplomat?

Cease Murder Diplomats (CMD) is a grassroots movement of community and faith-based leaders, residents, activists, and organizations joining forces to stop the killings in Camden, NJ. The Cease Murder Diplomat (CMD) movement is a proactive prevention strategy focused on saving one life at a time by being a daily presence in high violence neighborhoods and connecting with individuals who are at risk

of “being shot or being a shooter” in the immediate future. CMD is seeking individuals, churches, and agencies that are willing to partner together in a collaborative effort to be change the culture of violence in our neighborhoods and be consistent in delivering the message that "the killing must STOP". A Diplomat is a person who is tactful and skillful in managing delicate situations, handling people, etc. Diplomats post collect and report information that could affect COMMUNITY interests, often with advice about how the COMMUNITY should respond. Then, once any policy response has been decided in the COMMUNITY, posts bear major responsibility for implementing it. Diplomats have the job of conveying, in the most persuasive way possible, the views of the COMMUNITY to the COMMUNITY to which they are accredited and, in doing so, to try to convince those to act in ways that suit COMMUNITY interests. In this way, diplomats are part of the beginning and the end of each loop in the continuous process through which policy is made. The diplomat should be an excellent negotiator but, above all, a catalyst for peace and understanding between peoples.

“You can’t be a gangsta and an Athlete...Athletes have morning workouts, eat, school, eat, practice, eat, homework, pray, sleep; REPEAT.
Athletes have no time to be in the streets being gangsta.”

Hundreds crowd services for Curtis Jenkins III, the slain grandson of Camden's council president

07/03/2019

Curtis Jenkins III, grandson of Camden's City Council president, was allegedly abducted Sunday night. A Westville man is charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault.

07/03/2019

The search for Curtis Jenkins III, 20, last seen when he left his car late Sunday night to deliver a platter and never came back, continued this morning as friends, relatives, Metro officers and FBI agents combed Fairview for clues. After Brandon Beverly, 32, of Westville was charged with his kidnapping and aggravated assault, there was still no Curt.

His grandfather, Camden City Council President Curtis Jenkins, told the media, "It just doesn't seem real. It's ripping everybody apart not knowing." He described Curt as "a good kid," who worked in the City Clerk's office and sold the platters he loved to cook. He'd gotten a call from his grandson Sunday night between 7:30 and 8, offering him some extra food he'd cooked, but having already eaten dinner, the older Jenkins declined.

A hundred people held hands and prayed in Farnham Park tonight for Curt Jenkins' safe return. But this is Camden, where life is extinguished as easily as a killer orders a chicken parm or shrimp alfredo. Moments before I could post these pictures, I learned that Curt's body was found in a garage on Liberty Street.

Shame on a city that calls itself rising as its children are murdered without a second thought. How many more, Camden?
