Jesus suffered and died on a cross so that we could be set FREE from our old life, our old fate, our old habits and sins. His free grace did not save us so that we should stay the same. God is a new-life-giver! We were made for more than our carnal existence. The word "Christian" was created to describe the 1st century believers. It literally meant "little Christs," because they were so set apart in being imitators and image-bearers of our Savior Jesus Christ. If others were to size us up today, would we be worthy of the name "little Christ"? Let us seek Him every day - not for approval or salvation (because that has been accomplished by the blood of Jesus). Instead, let us seek Him in obedience because He is worthy of our faithfulness and surrender. Let us humbly bow before Him to be transformed into the people He created us to be: sons and daughters who are self-controlled, patient, kind, joyful, and much more! Little Christs.

Come join us at 10:45 this morning at Hillside to be encouraged or to begin your pursuit of following and living for God!

To be rescued from hell is a wonderful and merciful thing! But God wants so much more for us. His design is not just transactional. From the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, we were spiritually designed to be in relationship with God. He is the piece that makes the human soul operate correctly! So often we want to be in control and keep God at the periphery for when He is convenient. Self-focused pride and insecurity determines so much of our life decisions. We often act as if we know better than God. Unfortunately, our hearts can be *so* deceitful that we often do not detect our own selfish and sinful motives. The solution is to recalibrate our minds and hearts to be God-centric instead of ego-centric. That is what brings about transformation in ourselves and in our world. Either He is "Lord" and "King" of our lives or He is not! Make sure today that you care more about what your Creator says than the world or even your own heart. Let's make our goal today to trust and follow Him!

We serve a powerful yet compassionate and personal Savior who cares about our every need. We can commune with Him at any time in any place and bring everything to Him. "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:16, NIV) The finished work of Jesus gives us the ability to come boldly with every question, worry, and fear and be assured that we will find mercy and grace at the throne of our Savior!

We invite you to join us this morning as we worship the God of all mercy! We will begin at 10:45 at 332 Columbia Ave. We hope to see you there!

Troubles are unavoidable. We are sure to encounter them as we navigate the complexities of life. Relationships will be challenged, insecurities will rear their ugly heads, and a gambit of other stressors will come along. David knew trouble all too well. Some he brought on himself and some he didn't ask for. In either circumstance , it is his understanding of his weak position without the Lord that makes him such a hero of the faith. "I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (Psalms 16:8, NIV) When we make the decision to fix our eyes on the Lord and put Him first, we enter into a security that only He can provide.

We invite you to join us this morning as we worship, the God of our strength. We will begin at 10:45 at 332 Columbia Ave. We hope to see you there.

There are many things in this world that distract us and consume our thoughts. These thoughts can leave us feeling overwhelmed and trapped. When we become a new creation in Christ, we become heirs of Christ. "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (Colossians 3: 1-2, NIV). We have the hope of heaven which is our guaranteed inheritance. The things of this earth are temporary and fleeting, but the riches of heaven are eternal. Christ is sovereign over it all so as His children we can be assured that peace and freedom is ours. The things of this world grow dim when we are fixated on the King of Kings and our identity in Him.

We invite you to join us this morning as we worship our King. We will begin at 10:45 at 332 Columbia Ave. We hope to see you there!

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16, NIV)

It is a verse that many of us have known since we were a child. We likely memorized it in Sunday school or at Vacation Bible School. When something is so familiar to us, we can often stop feeling the power of it yet this is such a profound truth! God loves us so much without condition that he gave what is most precious that we may be with him forever. All we have to do is believe that it is true!

We invite you to join us this morning as we worship with hearts of gratitude the one who saved us. We will begin at 10:45 at 332 Columbia Ave. We hope to see you there!

We so often believe the lie that we can only come to the Lord with our best. We think that we have to get ourselves together before we approach Him. When we come to truly understand the character of God, we can find peace and comfort in even the most broken of places. Jesus spoke these words, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) He is waiting to carry that heaviness for you. All that you need to do is hand it to Him.

We invite you to join us this morning as we worship our merciful Savior! We will begin at 10:45 at 332 Columbia Ave. We hope to see you there!
