Pastor Wayne’s sermon today was titled “Who is Jesus?” Luke 3:23, 31-34, 36-38 gives us His family tree, but we also know Jesus was a man who didn’t stand on the outside looking in. He stepped into humanity to experience what we experience, and He did it all on purpose. The son of God became the son of man so we could all become children of God.

And today was also Pastor’s birthday!! 🎂🎈We celebrated after service and it was a joyful time of fellowship and gratitude. 🙏🏽

The congregation was blessed today to celebrate the accomplishments of our dear Isaiah Shaw on the milestone of his graduation from high school. 🎓🎉 He shared inspiring reflections on the topic of “worthiness” and on his journey from baptism to growing up in the church. The Finance Committee also presented him a gift as he prepares to begin his studies at Temple University, with enough credits already earned to begin college as a sophomore! We’re very proud of you Isaiah and will continue to keep you in prayer!

Today, on Father’s Day, we honored all of the dads with a special presentation and boutonnieres 🌹. We also lit a candle in memory of all the fathers who are no longer with us. 🙏🏽🕯️

Our guest preacher today, Dr. Cala Allison, has been an educator for 29 years in our community, and she serves at H.B. Wilson Family School right down the street from us.

She challenged us to “Fill the gap with faith” when our reality doesn’t match our expectations, and the songs and reflections all reinforced that God is able.

We’re going to courageously trust God to work things out, despite what we have to endure. Today’s sermon, “The Fantastic Four,” reminded us of four Hebrew boys who displayed incredible courage, even threatened with demise from a fiery furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (originally Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah) were captives in Babylon alongside Daniel who famously refused to worship King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden statue. As God protected them, He still protects us from harm today.

Today we celebrate our risen Savior.
Today we partake in Holy Communion.
Today we remember His sacrifice.
Today we honor His eternal glory.
Today we fellowship as God’s children, made in the image of His son, Christ Jesus.
