On Thursday, June 11, join in prayer as the Catholic bishops of the United States consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as part of the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Watch the livestream at 1 p.m. (ET) from the bishops’ Spring Plenary Assembly in Orlando. During this historic Mass, Catholics across the country are invited to unite in prayer as our nation is entrusted to the loving Heart of Christ.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus pour out His mercy, peace, and grace upon our nation.

The latest Talking Catholic podcast with Father Rocks discussing “Magnifica Humanitas.”

Give it a listen: https://talking.catholicstarherald.org/podcast/magnifica-humanitas/

In this week’s episode, we welcome back fan favorite Father Jason Rocks, Chancellor of the Diocese of Camden and pastor of Holy Eucharist Parish in Cherry Hill, for a thoughtful and wide-ranging conversation on Pope Leo’s encyclical on artificial intelligence, Magnifica Humanitas.

Together, they explore how the Church’s long tradition of Catholic social teaching can help guide the use of emerging technologies in a way that protects human dignity, promotes the common good and keeps people, not machines, at the center of progress. Father Rocks reflects on the encyclical’s warnings about isolation, bias, war, education, transhumanism and the temptation to treat technology as an end in itself, while also emphasizing that AI can be a useful tool when used wisely.

The conversation also touches on everything from the Tower of Babel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem to The Terminator, Robocop, Star Wars, digital photography, education, human creativity and the importance of slowing down in a world that increasingly prizes speed and efficiency.

Listen as the trio consider how Christians can engage AI with hope, caution and responsibility, always asking the deeper question at the heart of the encyclical: Where is humanity going, and how do we make sure technology helps us become more fully human?

“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever.” (John 6:51)

“In the Eucharist we contemplate Jesus, bread broken and given for each one of us.” -

On this Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, may our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist be renewed and strengthened. Nourished by His Body and Blood, may we become living witnesses of His love in the world.
