As our Diocese shared yesterday, Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), which Bishop David P. Talley and Bishop Emeritus J. Terry Steib are members, sent out the following information:
“Today, May 25, Pope Leo XIV released his first encyclical letter, Magnifica Humanitas (Magnificent Humanity), focused on safeguarding the human person in an age of artificial intelligence.
The Holy Father writes on the inviolable dignity of every person, the call to remain profoundly human in an era of rapid technological change, and the moral imperative for technology to serve peace and the common good.”
Please read through the full encyclical letter in English or Spanish by clicking on the links below and prayerfully consider its teaching for our time:

• Vatican Website on the Encyclical
In sharing the Holy Father's teaching, the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development has created a website for the encyclical letter, Magnifica Humanitas. The website has a summary of the encyclical, infographics in several languages that relate to each chapter of the encyclical, and an introductory video:

• USCCB Webpage on the Encyclical
The USCCB has also created a dedicated webpage for related resources (button below-right). The page has resources from the Vatican mentioned above. It also includes USCCB resources on artificial intelligence and stories from Catholic News Service in Rome. The page will be updated regularly as more material is finalized:
