Camden Catholic High School hosted a school-wide assembly the morning of Sept. 11, inviting three first responders to share their firsthand accounts of the terrorist attacks and the days, months and years that followed.

β€œGetting this experience to talk with people who were there and directly involved really showed the scale and how massive the impact was in their personal lives. I could really feel for them," said senior Lucy Bielicki.

We join the Diocese of Camden, our administrators, teachers, and students in remembering and praying for all those we lost on September 11th and their families on the 25th anniversary of this tragedy.

25 Years Later, We Remember and Pray

On this 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember with solemn hearts all those who lost their lives, and we pray for the first responders, families, loved ones, and all whose lives were forever changed by that tragic day.

May God grant strength to those who continue to grieve, and peace to our nation and our world.

A New Opportunity for Catholic School Families!

As the new school year begins, a new federal program could help make more affordable for New Jersey families.

The Federal Educational Tax Credit (FETC) provides scholarship opportunities for eligible families, while allowing individuals to receive a 100% federal tax credit on contributions of up to $1,700 to participating scholarship organizations.

By working together, we can help make it possible for more children in South Jersey to experience a Catholic school education

Learn how this program could help families and how you can help make more scholarships possible in this column by 's superintendent of Catholic Schools, Dr. Bill Watson: catholicstarherald.org/stay-informed-about-new-school-scholarship-possibility-in-n-j/

For the second day in a row, Bishop Joseph A. Williams visited a South Jersey Catholic elementary school to celebrate the start of the 2026–27 school year. This time, he visited St. Mary School-Vineland and was joined by Father Joseph Ganiel, pastor of Saint Padre Pio Parish , Dr. William Watson, Superintendent of South Jersey Catholic Schools, and members of the school administration.

Guided by a select group of eighth-grade students, Bishop Williams and the visiting guests made their way through the school, stopping in classrooms from PreK3 all the way through eighth grade. Along the way, Bishop Williams talked with students about their return to school, meeting their new teachers and classmates, and making the most of the year ahead. He also took time to pray with the students, asking God to bless them with a healthy, happy and successful school year.

During his visit with the second graders, Bishop Williams offered special encouragement as they prepare to celebrate two important sacraments this year – First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. He also shared a special prayer from his grandmother with the students as they begin this important journey of faith.

The visit concluded in St. Mary’s new Innovation Lab, a space that previously served as the school library. Bishop Williams and the guests enjoyed some refreshments while learning more about the exciting possibilities for the new space.
