The Mennonite Congregation of Boston welcomes everyone, without exception. The Mennonite Congregation of Boston (MCOB) was organized in 1962, following three years of “unofficial” meetings. Begun as a house church, the Congregation initially met in members’ homes and relied on lay leadership as it does today. Many of our members grew up in churches outside of the Boston area and moved here for stu

dy or work. Since 1966 the Congregation has been dually-affiliated with the Eastern District of the former General Conference Mennonite Church and what is now the Atlantic Coast Conference of the former Mennonite Church. We are still a dually-affiliated member of the area Atlantic Coast Conference of the Mennonite Church USA. While many current participants come from a Mennonite or Brethren background, others were raised in different traditions. We welcome all who join with us in worship and fellowship.

Full disclosure: The weather has been lousy the last 2 years we've done this, as the MCOB volunteers in this photo (& others not pictured) can attest. Still, picking up trash that could otherwise end up in the river is an oddly satisfying form of creation care, even in the rain!
