Sermon: Awakening & Letting Go (August 30, 2026)

"It’s no surprise that this is the moment in Jesus’ public ministry when the religious leaders begin searching for a means of doing away with Jesus. We always look for a way to get rid of the person who challenges the golden calf of our most cherished falsehoods. If our first response is to do away with someone because we don’t like how they challenge us to think more critically about our actions, we have lost the plot. It’s quite clear that the teachers of the Law and the Chief priests had lost the plot, as they had established their own certainties about the coming Messiah. And Jesus certainly wasn’t what they expected."

Open Enrollment for the 2026-2027 Inquirers' Class!

The St. Ignatius Catechetical Group (Inquirers’ Class) at St. Mary Church in Cambridge, MA will begin its 2026-2027 class on Sunday, September 13 at 9 am in the Church Hall. Enrollment will be open until Sunday, November 8.

The Inquirers’ Class is for non-Orthodox adults who are interested in exploring the Christian Faith as it has been—and continues to be—understood, preached, and lived by members of the Orthodox Church. Classes are held weekly beginning in the Fall and conclude after Pascha in the Spring.
