We aim to follow Jesus’ example of discipleship by giving of our time and resources so that others can grow in their relationship with God. One Connection Church aims to work alongside local leaders to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the city’s residents. Our goal is to expand God’s kingdom by making disciples through Christ-centered worship services, inductive Bible studie
s, small group fellowship, and community service. Planting churches facilitates the process of discipleship. When the mission of a new church is to plant other churches, it will focus on making disciples. For example: a worship leader, who is involved in a church plant, begins training someone to lead worship. While training and spending time together, the worship leader helps the other person become not only a worship leader, but also a disciple of Jesus, who in due time will train someone else and make another disciple. The exponential growth described in the book of Acts depicts a similar structure. Small groups of disciples witnessed to the love and power of the resurrected Christ by “devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42, NIV). Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12, ESV). Our vision is to help each person become Jesus’ disciple.
