The Avenue celebrates Rev. Dr. Farris Blount III! 🎉

Dr. Blount, who faithfully served Western Avenue Baptist Church for nearly a decade, including as Executive Pastor, has recently begun a new chapter at Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, following his time at Memphis Theological Seminary.

He now serves as Assistant Professor of Practical Theology, Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program, and Director of the Perkins Black/Africana Church Studies Program.

We are grateful for Dr. Blount’s years of faithful leadership and service at Western Avenue and proud to see the continued impact of his ministry, scholarship, and leadership.

Congratulations, Dr. Blount! Your Avenue family celebrates you and is praying God’s continued blessings over this new chapter! 🙏🏾

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Boston Gospel Fest yesterday to support our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jeremy D. Battle!

Whether you showed up at City Hall Plaza, shared our posts, listened to his music, offered a word of encouragement, or kept him lifted in prayer—we are truly grateful for your love and support.

It was a blessing to see The Avenue family come together and celebrate the gift God has placed within our Pastor. We are incredibly proud of Pastor Battle and thankful for every person who helped make this moment so special.

We are excited to support our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jeremy D. Battle, as he takes the stage during the 26th Annual Boston Gospel Fest!

Join us for an evening filled with powerful worship, uplifting music, and community.
