Mike Solberg's Farewell Sunday

After nearly two years of interim ministry, the time has come to say goodbye to Pastor Mike Solberg as we approach calling our next senior minister. Please make sure to join us this Sunday for his final worship service with us, including a special liturgy of leavetaking. A reception will follow in Margaret Jewett Hall. Farewell to Music Director Peter Sykes: Sunday, May 31

Join us this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. as we honor Peter’s 40 years of committed and loving service to First Church. Our worship will include special music for and from Peter, as well as his usual sublime and sensitive accompaniment to our hymn singing. Then, we will move to Margaret Jewett Hall for a celebration with food, gifts, and warm wishes. All are welcome!

First Church is pleased to welcome to our building a concert organized by the sons of FCC member Nancy Chedid. A chamber ensemble of young instrumentalists and singers from diverse areas of the Middle East will present a concert of classic Arabic music with pieces that were made iconic by the beloved Lebanese singer Fairouz. Proceeds will benefit health care and relief organizations, including the Red Cross in Lebanon. More information, plus ticketing and donation details, can be found here:

The Christian Formation Committee invites you, once again, to engage with portraits of truth tellers from Americans Who Tell the Truth, as we lean into the joy to be found in public activism and resistance. Join us for any or all of the four sessions dedicated to grounding ourselves in the stories of artists who use their creativity to illuminate our understanding of what is needed to bring peace and justice to our broken world.
