Summer Worship at First Church:
Each year in July and August, we begin our worship one hour earlier at 10:00 a.m., followed by lemonade and other refreshments on the lawn (weather permitting). Through a preaching series led by Kate Layzer and Karen McArthur, along with a Godly Play Sunday led by Sarah Higginbotham and two Sundays with Noël Grisanti, we will make our way through the desert stories from Isaac and Rebekah to Moses. Join us as we walk with our religious ancestors through the summer.

By the grace of God, we have our next Senior Minister! Following ten months of work from the Pastoral Search Committee, Reverend Robin Junker-Boyce was presented as the committee’s final candidate on June 28, 2026. After preaching at First Church in Cambridge for the first time, a congregational meeting was held where over 100 members voted unanimously to call Robin as our eighteenth Senior Minister.

Juneteenth Sunday at First Church
June 21 at 11:00 a.m.
As is our tradition, we celebrate and honor Juneteenth in our morning worship. Our theme this year is "Now and Not Yet: A Legacy of Hope." With leadership by our Beloved Community team, we will be worshiping and reflecting on the work of indomitable spirit in the struggle for racial justice and liberation. All are welcome.

Mike Solberg's Farewell Sunday

After nearly two years of interim ministry, the time has come to say goodbye to Pastor Mike Solberg as we approach calling our next senior minister. Farewell to Music Director Peter Sykes: Sunday, May 31

Join us this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. as we honor Peter’s 40 years of committed and loving service to First Church. Our worship will include special music for and from Peter, as well as his usual sublime and sensitive accompaniment to our hymn singing. Then, we will move to Margaret Jewett Hall for a celebration with food, gifts, and warm wishes. All are welcome!
