This week’s message, “Bold Moves,” reflects on the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:21–28 and Mark 7:24–30. She came to Jesus as an outsider, yet with bold, persistent faith, crying, “Lord, help me.” Even when met with silence and resistance, she trusted that even a crumb of Jesus’ mercy was enough. Jesus praised her great faith, and her daughter was healed. Her story reminds us that God’s mercy is not limited by background, status, or what others think of us. Faith is about recognizing who Jesus is and trusting Him completely. May we open our doors wider, soften our hearts, and welcome all who seek Christ.

Charla had a beautiful 90th birthday celebration Sunday after church in Pilgrim Hall!
For 66 years she has been a faithful member of First Congregational UCC of Cambridge, blessing our church family with her deep knowledge of God's Word, her servants heart, and her steadfast devotion to the Lord. Her unwavering faith and gracious welcome have touched them many lives that have come through our doors over the years. Charla, you are truly one of a kind, and we give thanks to God for the gift of your life and witness. Here's to many more birthdays! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate this special day with Charla and her family.
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you."

This Sunday, July 5th, we continue our Called Friends of Christ series by meeting Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus—two quiet, hidden friends of Jesus who stepped forward in courage at the cross. While Martha, Mary, and Lazarus showed us open and joyful friendship with Christ last Sunday, Joseph and Nicodemus remind us that Jesus also receives those who come quietly, cautiously, and in the shadows. At the darkest moment, these secret friends honored Jesus openly. Their story invites us to move from hidden faith into the bright daylight of courageous friendship with Christ.
