Chapel City Church

Chapel City Church In the early 1900’s, the Camarillo area became known as the “Chapel City,” named after the numerous churches and their positive impact.

Our church was and remains an iconic symbol of faith in the community. Chapel City Church hopes to honor this history by continuing to impact our city through and for Jesus Christ.

We hope to see you at 9 AM! This week we will move forward in time roughly 400 years. We have looked at the faith of the fathers up to the life of Joseph. By the end of Genesis, 70 people go down to Egypt with the promise of becoming a great nation and, one day, returning to the Promised Land. But after 400 years, a new king is in power and the people are enslaved. In this context, we are introduced to Moses, the next man that the author of Hebrews highlights for his faith. But what did Moses do that demonstrated his great faith? Why would the author choose the life of Moses to bring to his readers' attention? And how can we see the faith of Moses as being relevant to our own trials and temptations?

This week we will move forward in time roughly 400 years. We have looked at the faith of the fathers up to the life of Joseph. By the end of Genesis, 70 peop...

We hope to see you tomorrow morning at 9AM! For the last several weeks we have looked at the life of Abraham through the lens of Hebrews 11. As he matured in his faith, he came to the point where he believed that God would be faithful to His promises, even if they seemed impossible. But how would those promises move from generation to generation? Abraham dies in faith, but so do Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. How do those men demonstrate their faith in the promises made to their fathers? What does this show about their faith? About God Himself? And how are we supposed to think about the promises of God in our lives? We would love to answer any questions you have and to know how we can be praying for you specifically.

We hope to see you tomorrow at 9 AM! We have been working our way through Hebrews 11, and the last few weeks have focused on the life of Abraham. We know that he responded obediently when God told him to leave his home, and we know that he waited patiently but imperfectly, for God to be faithful to His promises. It can be difficult to wait for the good promises of God, especially when we might not see the fullness of those promises in our lifetime. But what happens when it looks like the promises aren't just delayed, but have been taken away? How do we respond in faith when it looks like God has changed His mind? Genesis 22 and Hebrews 11 combine to show us a faith that surrenders completely to God's will, believing He will be faithful in impossible circumstances. We would love to answer any questions you have and to know how we can be praying for you specifically.

We hope to see you tomorrow at 9AM! Last week we started looking at the faith of the Patriarchs, particularly as demonstrated in the life of Abraham. God made Abraham the recipient of remarkable covenant promises: land, seed, and blessing. Those promises changed the way that he lived, and the decisions that he made. This week, we aren't focusing on a new piece of the narrative. Instead, we are going to work through the idea of hope and waiting. Because the reality is that Abraham and his descendants lived and died in the hope of those promises, but without ever experiencing the fullness of those promises. So how do you live in hope when the promises seem to fall short? How does faith help us to wait, and how do we live while we wait? We would love to answer any questions you have and to know how we can be praying for you specifically.
