What an amazing week it has been! I am sure they will have lots of stories to share, but our group has worked so hard this week and loved coming alongside First Pres Winston-Salem. They’ve delivered meals, played with LOTS of precious Dominican kids, laid block, mixed concrete, passed buckets, and worshipped with our dear friends at the church in Cielo.

We are so thankful for your prayers for them. Please lift them up as they travel back tomorrow, and will hopefully be pulling back in to Calypso around 11pm!

Thanks for your continued prayers for our group! Today, Hannah helped with VBS along with the group from First Pres Winston-Salem. Kelly, Amanda, and the boys continued work by laying block and mixing concrete. Meg was able to spend the day working in Medical Clinic. And Nick had a wonderful visit with Lalo and Zenaida, the family he lived with while he was working for the mission in 2007-2008.

Tonight, they’ll return to church for the Wednesday night service where Nick will be preaching. They are looking forward to the joy of worshipping again with the Cielo church.

Today has created more life-changing experiences in Santo Domingo 💙❤️

The day began with a tour of the school and an opportunity to play with the elementary school students during recess.

The team then split up and worked at 2 different sites - Hannah, Nick, Christopher, Lucas, and Isua helped lay block, and Kelly, Meg, Ethan and Kelly worked passing buckets of concrete to continue filling the footer for a house.

After lunch, they learned about the child sponsorship program. Please see the link in the comments for more information!

In the afternoon, the women worked alongside the women’s co-op (link in comments)and did a t-shirt project. The boys participated in American vs. Dominicans basketball game!

Tonight, they will get to see the “old city” and get a tour of historic downtown Santo Domingo. Thank you for your continued prayers - please keep them up!

Today started with a tour of the Water Filtration Plant, which was started by the mission to provide clean drinking water for the community (please see the link!).

Work began with some members of the group helping lay concrete to make the area outside the clinic wheelchair-accessible (it’s currently little pebbles). The youth spent the morning working on a footer for a house that is beginning construction.

They also helped organize and deliver meals to the community - which our church recently donated money towards.

This afternoon, they reconnected with Aaron David. We have sponsored him for 2 years and it was so fun to spend time with him again. He even joined in a game of kickball!

Our group worshipped this morning with the church in Cielo. The service was about 2 hours long, we’ll see if Nick gets any ideas!! They even enjoyed some down time in “Club Bamboo.”

Tomorrow they will begin work in the community helping with the construction of a cinder block house, and pouring concrete. Thank you for your continued prayers!
