“The Work Continues”
Philippians 1:1-11
What a powerful word from our own Elder Linda Tanksley this morning at Kingdom Builders Church!
One of the greatest truths from today’s message was this: you do not have to wait for a title to do the work of the Lord. What God has placed inside of you is already there. All you have to do is do the work.
Paul addressed the saints, bishops, and deacons, reminding us that there was order in the house of God. Yet the focus was never on titles, it was on the work of the Kingdom. Sometimes people seek titles so they can feel important, but Scripture reminds us that we are one body with many members, each having a purpose and assignment in Christ.
Paul was thankful for the believers in Philippi even while he was in chains. His circumstances did not stop his calling. Likewise, just because you may feel bound by challenges, disappointments, or life’s pressures does not mean God’s work in you has stopped.
Do not allow your chains to weigh you down or place a muzzle on your mouth. There is still something on the inside of you that God wants to bring forth for His glory.
Philippians 1:6 declares:
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
The work continues!
It is also important to remember that our “Timothys,” the next generation and our youth - are watching us. They are looking to those who are mature in the faith for direction, guidance, and examples of how to follow Christ. Let us live in a way that points them toward Jesus.
