“And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.” (Revelation 21:16)
John the Revelator saw the Blessed City, and his inspiring description stirs our deepest longings and highest hopes. For there, in that Exalted Place, the Lord answers the human cry for equality.
There are no districts in heaven, up town, down town; urban, suburbs; upper-class, middle-class, lower-class. While a proverbial train may take us to glory, there are no tracks in that blessed land; so no “wrong side of the tracks” for any one ever.
Equality. The word comes from the Latin term meaning level.
We would say “a level playing field” meaning that it is fair for all participants. Nothing is slanted toward one over another; no unfair or unjust advantages. In heaven we all agree. In heaven we are equal, we are like in quality, nature, and dignity. There we are free from extremes; tranquil in mind and mood; not vying for supremacy or dominance, nor scrambling for beach-front property.
The size of the City is also wondrous. One mathematician calculated from John’s descriptions that it is three billion square miles in size! That means there is room for YOU!
It is interesting to note that this same measurement is applied to Christ’s love. Paul the Apostle prays that we may be able “to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19)
Heaven will be a place where we each experience the full measure of the vast love of God. Yet we don’t have to wait for Heaven; God’s love is ours NOW. Remember, Jesus taught us to pray “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is heaven.” We can live now as Citizens of that Place and bring its bright influence into all the dark and desperate places in our fallen world.
We can be men and women who are heavenly minded while yet living on the earth.
That's where our founding fathers got the term "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal..."

When we encounter the word Grace, we are again on holy ground. No other word sums up biblical theology, and therefore the Christian faith, as does grace. The Hebrew verb is chānan (H2603), and the noun is chēn (H2580). Related to the Akkadian enēnu and hanānu (“to grant a favor”), chānan means “to be gracious, considerate, show favor” and “depicts a heartfelt response by someone who has something to give to one who has a need.” It is often used for people being gracious to each other, as when Job asked his friends to “pity” him (Job 19:21), and for people having pity on the poor (Proverbs 19:17).
It is the theological use, of course, that is the most significant. Like mercy, grace is always to the spiritually helpless, those who cannot save themselves. The psalmist cries out to God because of his solitude (Psalm 25:16), his suffering (Psalm 31:9), and his sin (Psalm 51:1, chānan is “mercy”). Further, we see God’s graciousness in protection (Genesis 6:8 ff), prosperity (Genesis 33:11), and even progeny (Genesis 33:5). And we should not ignore that this is all according to God’s sovereign will alone, as He “will be gracious to whom [He] will be gracious” (Exodus 33:19).
It’s also fascinating to note that this word, and its derivatives, form the basis for the names of several people in Scripture, such as Hannah and Johanan, for example. Those names have in turn given us several of their own derivatives that we use today, such as Anna, Ann, and several versions of John. God’s people are, indeed, struck by the power and depth of this word.
Finally, as one authority also observes, “In many ways, chānan combines the meaning of the Greek charis (with the general classical Greek sense of ‘charm’ or ‘graciousness’) and the NT sense of ‘undeserved favor’ or ‘mercy.’” The Septuagint, in fact, often renders chānan as charis (G5485). Further, as the OT chānan is associated with Messiah, so, too, is the NT charis coupled with the person and work of Jesus Christ, for He is the ultimate manifestation of the grace of God. Kind - (Greek) chre¯stos
In Classical Greek, chre¯stos (G5543) originally denoted usefulness, and therefore referred to things that were useful, suitable, and proper, such as good food or wine (e.g., Luke 5:39, "better"). The term broadened to include moral excellence. When used of persons, then, it describes one who is "good-natured, gentle," "mild [and] pleasant" in contrast to "harsh, hard, sharp, [and] bitter."
Matthew 11:30 "For my yoke is easy (chre¯stos), and my burden is light." Whoever heard of a "kind" yoke? They are notorious for being cruel and painful. But that is exactly what is pictured. Even though burdens will come to the Christian, they are still kind in comparison to those of the world.
Our Lord used this word, for example, to describe God Himself as one who is kind even "unto the unthankful and to the evil" (Luke 6:35). Peter declares this as well in 1 Peter 2:3, where he writes that "the Lord is gracious" (chre¯stos). How merciful God is to allow men to continue in their indescribable wickedness!
Likewise, therefore, no matter whom we deal with, we are to do so with kindness. Our Lord gives us the same principle in the Beatitudes: "Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake" (Matthew 5:11). The word blessed is makarios (G3107), which speaks of a contentedness that is not affected by circumstances. It doesn't matter how someone might treat us; what matters is how we treat them.

“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15
If there is one lesson that stands out in life it is that good things take time to come to fruition. Nothing worthy ever happens quickly. Years ago I remember hearing an older Pastor say, “When God wants to make a squash, He takes six months. When He wants to make an Oak tree, He takes twenty years. Which do you want to be?”
I’ve been around long enough now to have seen for myself the truth of his words. I’ve seen young upstarts come and go, like fireworks on the Fourth of July. A big bang, a pretty splash, lots of ooohs and aaahs and then nothing. Nothing but the same dark sky that was there before they popped. And then there are the others; those bright-light souls that are not really noticed by most people at all, simply because they are always there like the sun in the daytime or the moon and stars at night. Just there, doing what God ordained them to do shining.
I’ll take steady over quick every time. I’ll take shine over flash as well. God give me grace to bring forth fruit with patience. Prove that I’m built for the long haul!
Remember the children’s song? “He’s still workin’ on me to make me what I oughta be. It took Him a week to make the sun and the stars; Venus, Mercury, Neptune and Mars. How lovin’ and patient He must be! ‘Cause He’s still working on me!!”
Jesus is the unhurried Savior. He’s working on a truly great masterpiece that will be displayed in glory. That masterpiece is YOU. For your part then, be an unhurried soul; keep an honest and good heart into which you may hear His word and treasure it; and then bring forth fruit with patience all the days of your life.

Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light, and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” If you go through the Bible and find every verse where “light” is spoken of in the figurative sense, and replace it with the phrase “revelation of God’s love” a great door of discovery opens. Truly. For example, let me alter the verse slightly, and perhaps you might see what I mean. “The LORD is my revelation of God’s love, and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Jesus came to show us the Father, to help us know how great is His love for us. And when we experience this, we embrace the salvation He has so freely given to us. We become empowered by His love, and stand boldly in the face of fear. “There is no fear in love, for perfect love casts out fear.” 1 John 4:18 And elsewhere the Bible says, “He has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Tim 1:7
When I see and experience God’s love for me, found in a personal relationship with Jesus and lived out in true friendship with others who know Him and love Him, my life becomes filled and strengthened with the many wonderful benefits of salvation. There is no challenge too great, no failure too bad, no enemy too strong for we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us! And there is no dream too big, and no hope too audacious, and no task too impossible – for we can do all things through Christ who loves us. The Lord is my light! He has given me a revelation of God’s love for me – and I am saved, empowered, and ready for whatever comes my way! How about you?

“If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
In light of what I posted last, consider this as a fresh way to look at this verse
“If we walk in the revelation of God’s love as made known to us through Jesus, then we have fellowship with one another; we share in life with each other. And in this dynamic friendship we continually experience the cleansing power provided by Jesus, setting us free from all those things that have held us back and kept us down.”
Are you a loner? If you stay that way you will be a gone-er! (and I know that was a groaner)
But, you cannot make it on your own. “It is not good that man be alone,” God said. He created us for fellowship with Him, and with one another. Satan works relentlessly to destroy our relationships, and to isolate us in solitary confinement. We do not have to accept this.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He has saved us, and brought us into the Kingdom of Light, that place where the reality of His love over-rules all others things. Now, by the power of God’s Spirit in us, we can “walk in the revelation of His love” with one another. And His love will lift us to higher ground.
Our friendships will be true and lasting, and our lives will be enriched in every way.
Ask God to lead you into a true friendship with others who know and love the Lord Jesus. He will do it; and your life will flourish in ways you could never imagine. I know from experience and so can you!!!

"‘God has given me the responsibility of serving His church by proclaiming the word of God in its fullness. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. And the secret is this; Christ in you is the hope of glory!’” (Colossians 1:25-27)
Perhaps this illustration will help you see it clearly for yourself.
I am holding a glove in my hand. It is made of the finest Corinthian leather, and stitched together with hand-woven silk thread from the Orient. The attention to detail is impeccable in every way.
But this glove was made for a purpose; it was made to be worn on my hand. Apart from me this glove can do nothing. Despite its high quality of design and materials, its fashion and its form it is nothing until I place my hand inside of it. Once that occurs, then and only then does the glove fulfill its purpose. And with my hand placed securely inside the glove, the glove can now do whatever my hand can do while wearing it.
Thus it could be said that my hand in the glove is the glove’s hope of glory; that is, the glove’s only opportunity of fully becoming what it was made to be.
The same is true and you and me. We were made for a purpose; one that will never be realized apart from our Lord Jesus Christ. Once Christ puts His presence and power into our lives, then we can do whatever Christ can do through us! Paul’s timeless words become our very own, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!’
This is our hope of glory!
In Christ, the defeated become victorious; the weak become strong; the poor become rich! In Christ – the lame are made to leap and dance; the blind are made to see; the enslaved are set free and rejoice!
In Christ, the lowly are raised up; the brokenhearted are healed; sinners are forgiven, and backsliders are restored! In Christ, dreamers are envisioned; builders are empowered; and all are strengthened with might in their inner man!
In Christ alone! By Grace and Grace alone!!

Question? Is there enough evidence in your life to convict you of being a Christian? I know the that we are saved only because of what Christ Jesus has done for us, but is there 'fruit meet for repentance' evident in your life? Create Hebrew - bara’
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1; also Isaiah 45:12)
“Created” (or create) is the Hebrew bara’ (H1254), a word that appears some 53 times and is used of God alone.
Unlike other words that speak of making something, bara’ speaks of creating from nothing.
The word yasar (H3335), for example, means “to form, fashion, or shape,” as a potter makes a vessel (Isaiah 29:16) and as God made man from dust (Genesis 2:7). Similarly, ‘asah (H6213) means “to do, to make, to accomplish,” as in constructing something with existing materials (Genesis 13:4).
There is also kûn (H3559), which means “to set up, to make firm, to establish,” as in founding a city (Habbakuk 2:12). Amazingly, all four words appear together in Isa 45:18 : “God himself... formed [yasar] the earth and made [‘asah] it; he hath established [kûn] it, he created [bara’] it not in vain.”
Bara’ is, therefore, unique. While the potter needs clay and the builder needs materials, God needs nothing. He merely speaks into existence whatever He chooses, as we repeatedly read “And God said” in Genesis 1. Further, God will also create the New Heavens and New Earth (Isaiah 65:17; Revelation 21:1-5).
So in Genesis 1, we see the creation of all three basic elements of the physical universe: space (“heavens”), matter (“heavens and earth”), and time (“beginning”). God did it all, and any compromise with the idea of “millions of years” is a denial of God’s unique, finished work of Creation and is the result of the brainwashing of people’s minds by ungodly men.
Another particularly awesome appearance of bara’ occurs in Psalm 51:10, where David, after his terrible sin, pleads, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” We are reminded here of Ephesians 2:10, which declares that the believer is “created in Christ Jesus.” “Created” is ktizo (G2936), the word often used in the Septuagint to translate bara’. God created the believer from nothing. Before Christ came into our lives, each of us was a worthless lump of clay, dead in trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1-3). But then God created us! And to what were we created? “Unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Shalom! Stay In The Word!

Titus 2:11-15 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. 15 Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority...

1st, the grace of God brings salvation; that is, it does not leave us the way it finds us. We are changed by its power; changed from the inside out. “If any man is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold all things become new.” (2 Cor 5:17).

2nd, this grace has appeared to all men – appeared to all, yes; but not embraced by all. For those who do embrace it, the power of Grace empowers us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust, and to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world.

3rd, we live looking for the return of the Lord; redeemed from all iniquity, purified unto Jesus, a peculiar people zealous to do good works!

Imagine what our world could look like if this truth about God’s Grace took hold of the great, diverse Body of Christ and then spread its redeeming power and presence to all men everywhere.

Jesus said, “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 5:16)
Let’s do this by the grace of God.
The results of our faithful obedience would be nothing short of a Grace Awakening!

He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit... the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering... (John 15:5 & Gal 5:22)
As we abide in Christ, spiritual fruit develops in our lives. This happens by the work of the Holy Spirit, applying the grace resources of God to our inner man. This spiritual product then appears as godly character in us.
Love is the primary indication that we are trusting the Lord to bring forth fruit in us. "The fruit of the Spirit is love." In fact, some see love as the singular fruit, with joy, peace, etc. as aspects of that love. This is divine love ("agape" love), a love that flows from the heart of God. "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God." (1 John 4:7) Such love is not stirred by the "love-ability" of the object. It is a unique, heavenly love available only from the Lord.
"The fruit of the Spirit is - joy." Joy is gladness of heart, an inner spiritual happiness that does not depend upon circumstances. It is a spiritual delight in the Lord that is always available, no matter what is happening around us. "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!" (Phil 4:4)
"The fruit of the Spirit is - peace." This peace is related to a cessation of hostility between parties. It affects our relationship with the Lord. "We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1). It also impacts our relationship with others. "For He Himself is our peace, who has made both [i. e., Jew and Gentile] one, and has broken down the middle wall of division between us" (Eph_2:14). This peace also involves a spiritual calm and tranquility within our hearts. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Phil 4:6-7).
"The fruit of the Spirit is - longsuffering." Longsuffering would include patience and forbearance. It would embrace a willingness to forgive and to not seek vengeance. "Put on... longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another" (Col 3:12-13).
We do NOT produce these qualities by our capabilities. This fruit is a work of God in us: "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering."

Prayer - O Lord, I readily confess that at times I am unloving, joyless, strife-torn, or impatient. Lord Jesus, I want to abide in You. Please work in me by Your Holy Spirit. Bring forth in my life this awesome spiritual crop of Christlikeness. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
