AFTERNOON DEVOTION TUESDAY

But now, O Jacob, listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. – Isaiah 43:1

The last part of today’s verse says, “you are mine”. Aren’t those words encouraging? To know that you’re God’s? You’re not an accident, regardless of what others say. You are God’s. That gives you dignity.

So no matter what people have said about you, you can hold your head high. You know that God loves you and calls you His.

He will be with you and help you in every trouble that you face. He’s there to comfort you, protect you, provide for you, and meet any physical or emotional need you have.

So go out today to your world on purpose. Know that you’ve been created for this time and on purpose. Let the world see how good God is through you. God wants to do big things through you!

Isaiah said, “When you feed the hungry, when you clothe the naked, when you help those in need, then your light will break forth like the dawn and your health will quickly come.” Too often, we’re waiting for the light to break forth. We’re waiting for the promotion, the healing, the new level, but the question is, “Have we done the first part? Have we served anyone? Have we been a blessing?”

It’s not too late to become all you were created to be. God hasn’t forgotten about the dreams He put in your heart. You’re not running out of time; you’re running into time. God is ordering your steps. Opportunities that didn’t happen years earlier, you didn’t miss them; it wasn’t the right time. The door had to close; it was all setting you up for the best. God saves the best for next.

Let God remove what He knows is keeping you from the true you. Unforgiveness is keeping you from shining. Insecurity, compromise, anger are blocking the best you from coming out. Work with God. Be willing to change. We don’t have to be perfect, but we should be growing. We should be better than we were five years ago. We should be kinder, more respectful, have a better attitude. We should be more confident, more secure. We should forgive quicker, overlook offenses easier. We should compromise less, resist the temptation more often. That means we’re letting the chisel chip away things that are hindering our growth. We’re seeing more of the "true you" coming out.

Jesus told Thomas, “Because you’ve seen Me, you have believed. But blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe.” You haven’t seen it, but you keep believing. God says there’s a blessing coming. Because you believe without the evidence, believe without the sign, favor is coming, healing is coming, victory is coming. Don’t be a Thomas, “God, show me a sign, then I’ll believe. Let my circumstances improve, then I’ll stay in faith. Open this door, then I’ll know You’re working.” God is looking for people who believe without a sign, who are not moved by what they don’t see, who don’t need evidence to prove that God is working.
