Do you know your spiritual gift? 1 Corinthians 12:7 says “the manifestation of the Spirit is given to (each) one for the profit of (all). (my emphasis). God has placed you in the Body of Christ with a special gift. That gift is meant to edify all. As each gift is used in harmony then the Body of Christ is strengthened and the Truth of The Gospel is revealed.

Seek to know where God had placed you in His Body. Read 1 Corinthians 12 but don’t stop there. Continue in to chapter 13. Seek to understand the purpose of spiritual gifts and learn that each gift is pointless without the Love of Christ.

I pray that all of you will find Godly wisdom as you pursue The Lord Jesus Christ.

Sunday, July 14, 2024, we had 4 people receive baptism following their profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

Baptism is a very special event in the life of a Christian. In baptism we are showing a picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬ ‭nkjv.

Have you ever repented and asked Jesus to be your savior? To cleanse you from all unrighteousness?

If not then I encourage you to read the Bible in the book of Romans.

Romans 3:23 states “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”. According to Romans 3:10-12, no one is righteous, and all have turned away from God.

Romans 6:23 says, “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

Romans 5:8 states, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

Those who have professed this faith in Jesus Christ should seek baptism as a public display of their obedience to God.

Tomorrow, July 14, 2024, we are having baptisms.

Baptism is an act of obedience after one has put his/her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Jesus died on a cross as a sacrifice for the sin of the world. Your sin and mine. When we repent and put our faith in Him we become part of the family of God.

If you have put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have never been baptized then I encourage you to seek out a bible believing church and ask about baptism.

If you want to join us tomorrow at 970 A Street in Caliente and learn what baptism means we start our service at 11am.

When we have children our goal is to raise good, honest and contributing members to society. We spend 18+ years teaching them what we know from our own upbringing and our life experiences.

The same should be true when it comes to discipling new Christians. We should be invested in their growth as children of God. We should always seek moments to teach them and raise them up to be contributing, active members of a heavenly society.

Often times these young Christians get thrown to the wolves. They get saved, baptized and forgotten.

I am calling on the people of God to invest themselves in the lives of young Christians to disciple them and train them in the precepts of God.

The apostle Paul poured himself into the training of Barnabas.

Can you think of a Barnabas in your life that is in need of you to pour yourself into his/her discipleship?

Or maybe you are a Barnabas in need of a mature disciple to lead you.

Either way, please seek to grow in your life as a child of God. Don’t forsake your calling.
