VICTORY FELLOWSHIP CENTER
1990-2014

The ministry began with a three-night revival at the McConnell Road Civic Center in September of 1990. Several people came and were blessed as the anointed Word of God was preached by Elder Maurice Simmons. One month late

r the Lord blessed and opened the door for weekly bible studies and a weekly radio broadcast. The following March (1991) on Easter Sunday morning, we moved into a small building located on King Street. A special church Dedication Service was held May 3, 1991 to launch the ministry of Victory Fellowship Center. Pastor Wiley Jackson and the Word In Action Ministries, Atlanta, Georgia presided over the service. Elder Simmons was ordained as the Pastor, by Pastor Jesse “Pete” Smith. Since that time, the church has been incorporated as Armour of God Ministries, Inc. In July of 2004, we purchased our current facility, which was dedicated to the Lord on March 4, 2006. The following year, God expanded our territory when the property across the street was donated to us. It is an 83,000 square feet building on two acres on land. One of the greatest expressions of love toward this ministry was shown by Pastor Joseph Bentley (Community Holiness Church, Waycross) and the late Elder Ronnie L. McGhee (Powerhouse Of Faith Deliverance Church, Waycross). In June 1991 they hosted a “Weekend Special” service designed to boost the ministry both spiritually and financially. God strengthened us for the journey during this fellowship weekend. Today we stand as committed to this work as we were in 1990. For the past five years we have been working on the building projects, community outreach, missions and church growth. Weekly services have expanded to include weekly youth service and a nursery. We marked 23 years of broadcasting on the local station and 10 years at our current location. Additional ministries include Men, Women, Marriage Ministry. Our Women’s fellowship served as mentors to a group of youth in the local Big Brothers/Big Sisters program for 3 years. The Outreach Ministry is actively involved and supports monthly feeding programs for senior citizens in the Calhoun area. Victory Fellowship Center’s goal is to pursue excellence in all aspects of ministry. We realize that our success depends upon the achievement of excellence through dedication and teamwork. It is our goal to work as a team, for the betterment of the ministry and community, knowing that we cannot prosper as separate entities, but as one team, with one vision in the body of Christ. Although we believe in living a disciplined life, God’s instruction to this ministry was to preach the word, as He promised to confirm the Word with signs and wonders. The Ministry of Victory Fellowship Center is to equip the saints through preaching and teaching the Word. Our assignment is to teach baptized believers to walk and live in Victory. (I Corinthians 15:57)

Our Mission is to carry out Jesus’ command to “Go” into all the world and preach the gospel.
