We want to be transparent with our community about how Camp Cherokee continues to operate. The McMinn Meigs Baptist Association faithfully provides monthly funding that covers a large portion of our basic operating expenses, and we are deeply grateful for that support. During our three weeks of summer camp, camper fees cover the costs of those weeks almost exactly—we don’t operate at a profit, but we also don’t operate at a loss during camp season.
Both of those sources of income do not cover the things that keep Camp Cherokee strong for the future: updates to cabins, maintenance of equipment, improvements to the property, and the ability to respond when something unexpectedly breaks. These needs don’t fit neatly into a budget, but they are essential to keeping the camp safe, welcoming, and functional.
Camp Cherokee has always been taken care of by people who love it—churches, families, former campers, and friends who believe in its mission. Your generosity allows us to make needed repairs, improve facilities, and ensure that this camp can continue serving children and families for years to come.
Without the support of our community, Camp Cherokee would struggle to survive. With it, we can continue to grow and be able to pass it on to the next generation.
If you feel led to give financially, please know that every gift—large or small—makes a real difference. Most of all, thank you for praying, caring, and standing with Camp Cherokee. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
