And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Join us for a different kind of worship of September 13 - A day of service.

"Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28

Yesterday was a beautiful celebration of worship and fellowship at Calhoun First United Methodist Church. Our youth led us with joy and confidence, guiding the service and hosting a refreshing Lemonade in the Shade that brought everyone together.

We were blessed by a heartfelt message from our Candler School of Theology intern, whose encouraging sermon stirred every soul—right down to our radiant 90‑year‑old birthday girl. Drawing from 1 Samuel 3, we were reminded that the voice of the Lord calls each of us, no matter our age or season of life.

In Christ, we are made new. In Christ, we are forever young.
