🥣Let's Feed Our Friends at Celebrate Recovery! 🥣
We're excited to serve dinner for Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday, Oct 20th, and we're bringing homemade vegetable soup and sandwiches!

If you'd like to help, simply choose a donation item (or two!) from the sign-up list below. Please bring your food donations to the Christian Center kitchen by Monday, Oct 19th so our cooking team can do the final prep before taking everything to City of Refuge on Tuesday evening.

Prefer to give financially instead? Monetary donations are also welcome! You can send your contribution to Susan via Venmo: -Powell-26, and we'll use it to purchase any needed items.

SOCKTOBERFEST was a blast once again! We had some great wacky socks—with competing chicken feet, a Sasquatch, TV themed, and the winning Jesus socks from Sara Stanley. We also collected a BUNCH of socks for those in need, while we meditated on the thought that God gives us ways to serve and bless others through seemingly small and ordinary ways—like a pair of socks!! He doesn’t always require big, expensive, sacrificial gestures. So each day we can and should look for opportunities to be his hands and feet —even if it’s just donating socks!
The food, as usual, was fabulous and the fellowship even better! Make plans to join us for FRIENDSGIVING on Nov 2!

We’re taking a break so you can enjoy your Labor Day holiday. We’ll be back October 5 at 6pm for our 6th annual SOCKTOBERFEST!

On Monday night we had the best time celebrating our many generations. (We had representation from the 30s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s 10s and 2020s!) our them was “One Family, Many Stories”. We shared memories and made new ones. Our verse was Psalm 145:3 as we were encouraged to pass down & up the knowledge and wisdom of each generation. We dressed by the decade, we laughed and answered trivia questions; we ate some of our favorites from childhood, and we worked together to make some gifts for the wonderful teachers and staff at Swain elementary school. But my favorite part of the evening was when I asked each lady to write down something they hoped the generations to come, would never forget. See the picture of the wonderful wisdom and advice that we collected.

No September meeting. Due to Labor Day—but  plan to join us in October.
