Happy October everyone. How did we get here so fast? We all are enjoying the cooler mornings after so many weeks of extreme heat. October is one of my favorite months. Cooler weather, post season leaves changing, festivals, Saints football, and college football in full swing. We have two opportunities this month for giving. We are getting very close to our OCC packing party on November 8th. We are collecting small toys for the boxes. Second, we are collecting bags of candy for the City Octoberfest event on October 27th. We will be collecting until Sunday October 25th. Thank you for your support of both of these endeavors.
A quick joke before I go. The new Methodist minister saw one of his church members Jake in town on a Sunday afternoon and said, “I’m told you went to the ball game instead of church this morning.” That’s a lie preacher,” snapped Jake. “And here’s the string of fish to prove it.”

Sunday School at 10:00 am
Sunday Morning worship at 11:00 am
Coffee and Conversation Bible Study will be every Tuesday,10:00am in the fellowship hall.
Bible Study will be every Wednesday, 5:30pm.in the fellowship hall. Choir practice at 6:30.
Methodist Men’s will meet October 5th, 6:00pm. at the Methodist Corner.
Methodist Women will meet October 15, 6:30pm. at the Methodist Corner.
The next fundraiser meal will be October 11th after the morning worship service. Menu:(Brunch) Setup crew Judy Doolittle, Pam Parker, Barbara Schreick. Cleanup crew will be Judy Doolittle, Nanette Williams, Judy Moore.
The next Church Board meeting will be October 25, 4pm. in the Fellowship Hall.
In October we will be collecting small toys for Operation Christmas Child.
We will be collecting bags of candy until Sunday October 25th for Octoberfest.
There will be a Basket in the foyer to collect for the Food Boxes in Calhoun City.
