Good Friday, Family! Although we had a great time with our daughter in Albania, it is good to be back home and with our church family here. We missed you, but this week I've been able to get back into the groove and catch up with all I missed... or at least most of it.
I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday! We've seen some amazing progress on our building construction, but we have much more to complete before we can start using the space we will be stewards over for years to come. Our hope was to have our building dedication on July 19, but a couple of delays have forced us to push it back to August 2. Mark this new date on your calendar as we celebrate what God has done and what God will do in the generations ahead.
Now that summer is here, I am grateful for the warmer and longer days! I appreciate God's plan including seasons. Some seasons I like better than others, but seasons encourage us to appreciate the good ones and live by faith waiting through the ones we don't like so much. If we wait long enough, seasons will change.
While I was out of town, I understand Pastor Jonathan preached on
Ecclesiastes 3:1. What a great reminder.
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
When life treats you well, I encourage you to pause and practice gratitude, remembering that life moves in waves. When life feels unbearable, I urge you to rest and look for God's grace to sustain you, knowing this season is also temporary. Shifting your focus like this is a true act of faith, and from my own journey, I know it can be one of the toughest choices to make.
Psalm 27:14 reminds us,
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
I pray that God's grace meets you exactly where you are—giving you joy for the current season or strength for the waiting period.
See you Sunday!
