EPIC of MALIBU is a place where great stories are told through dance, drama, music and living tableaux. Just as Jesus used stories to explain the Kingdom of Heaven, so Epic uses all the arts to help us better understand Jesus in our world today. EPIC uses jazz and classical, hip-hop and praise bands to celebrate. Each service will be unique, filled with an array of styles to teach us Kingdom princ
iples. We’ll use technology to display God’s majesty; have guest speakers within the various fields of science; leaders within the Christian community to teach, preach and embrace all who seek Him. We want to tell the stories of God in history, of God in Creation, of God as Man. EPIC will provide workshops in art, drama and music to train our own teams in declaring God’s Epic Story. EPIC is concerned about strengthening and preserving family values. The pressures on parents within the professional community are enormous. Being a great parent while maintaining a professional career takes help from outside. EPIC will offer professional guidance for parents with teens, establishing personal boundaries, addressing divorce and its aftermath and youth mentors for teens and preteens. EPIC of MALIBU offers programs for teens such as break dancing, skateboarding competitions, study groups, concerts and group events that will teach them life skills in relationships; being loved, being understood, communicating our feelings to adults, my life’s purpose and loving others. EPIC is involved in the community of Malibu. Director Skip Ball is a Chaplain for the Malibu Sheriff’s Department and works closely with the department to keep a pulse on the concerns of the community. He is trained in grief counseling, family relationships, pre-marital counseling and offers insight into teen issues. Skip Ball provides oversight for the weekly Sunday services at the Michael Landon Center. He is ordained in the Free Methodist Church of Southern California and has served overseas in Europe for nearly 18 years. Skip has also worked on staff at Malibu Presbyterian Church in adult and outreach ministries. Jonathan Ball is assistant Director of EPIC of MALIBU. His experience lends direction for the youth of Malibu. Jonathan has travelled with an evangelistic team across country using music, drama, break-dancing and skateboarding events to reach kids of all ages. Jonathan will be directing many youth events from concerts to sporting competitions. He is a teacher in Biblical studies and role model in youth development. He is training to be ordained within the Free Methodist Church. As EPIC expands our youth ministries week night events will be set up at Malibu Bluff’s Park and Recreation Center. Life Groups are a part of Epic's small group ministry. Contact us to join a group near you.
