GHBC Family of the Week
This week, we are excited to spotlight Hunter, Brandi, and their three beautiful daughters, Haleigh, Karter, and Kaibree! Their story is such a wonderful reminder of how God works in our lives and how one simple invitation can make an eternal difference.
Brandi’s roots at Gordon Heights Baptist Church go all the way back to her childhood, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized around the age of 10 or 11. Years later, God began writing another chapter in their family’s story through something as simple as a haircut! While getting his hair cut one day, Hunter received an invitation to GHBC from Richard McFatter. Hunter began attending church on his own, and after several weeks, he made the most important decision of his life, to surrender his heart to Jesus Christ and follow Him in baptism.
That decision brought Brandi back to GHBC after several years away, as she and their three daughters came to witness Hunter’s baptism. Since then, Brandi has rededicated her life to the Lord and followed through with baptism, and their oldest daughter, Kaibree, has also accepted Christ as her Savior and been baptized. What a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness and how He can use one person’s obedience to impact an entire family!
When asked what they love most about GHBC, they shared how thankful they are for the genuine love and welcoming spirit shown to their family. They love being part of a church where they feel loved and right at home. They also have a special place in their hearts for “Church Man” (Pastor William) and the lovely “First Lady” Lesley!
Both Hunter and Brandi have found ways to serve the Lord through the ministries of GHBC. Brandi serves in Women’s Ministry, the Children’s Church rotation, and the kitchen cooking and serving rotation. Hunter serves in Men’s Ministry, the kitchen cooking and serving rotation, and Youth Ministry. Their willingness to serve is a blessing to our church family.
When reflecting on what GHBC means to them, they shared, “GHBC has been such a blessing to our family! We are grateful for the love, fellowship, and opportunities to serve alongside our church family. We look forward to continuing to grow in our faith and serve the Lord together!”

We are so thankful that God led this sweet family to Gordon Heights. Their story reminds us that we never know how God might use a simple invitation to change someone’s life forever. Sometimes all it takes is one person being willing to invite someone to church and allowing God to do the rest.
We love you, Hunter, Brandi, Haleigh, Karter, and Kaibree! We are so blessed to have you as part of our GHBC family!
