The history of the church began in the heart of Pastor Larry Ridenour 25 years ago when he was called into the ministry at the age of 18. During prayer one night, he realized he would plant and pastor a church. Those 23 years prior to starting this church were difficult, but he knew God was forming inside of him the character, discipline, integrity, and wisdom he would need to be a courageous lead
er. When the time came, he trusted God, stepped out in faith, and began the daunting task of planting a church and pastoring a congregation. The church was formed to minister to the religious and spiritual needs of the Columbia community and the surrounding Metropolitan St Louis area. EBF is determined to teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, which creates good and productive citizens. The church started with 22 people, moving from house to house. Our current location at Sinclair Center is our 9th location. The congregation has grown to an average of 100+ people. We believe that we will grow into a ministry that will disciple thousands in the Bi-State and Midwest Region and our influence will reach around the world.
