Holy, holy, holy, Lord God, the Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come. Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one seated on the throne, the one who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne and say, “Our Lord and God, you are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, because you have created all things, and by your will they exist and were created”.
These words from Revelation 4 inspired David Brymer and Ryan Hall to write the lyrics and music to "Worthy of It All" in 2012. CeCe Winans did an incredible cover of the song around ten years later. Sometimes followers of Christ expend all their energy trying to be faithful, diligent, and sacrificial, with their only thought of reward being a crown awarded when they arrive in Heaven. Then we sing this song and again realize every incredible act of faithfulness, every painful heartbreak, every moment of suffering, every sacrifice we’ve made pales in the presence of the One who gave His life for us. If you don’t have a home church and love the worship music we hear on K-Love or Spirit FM, we invite you to join us tomorrow at 10:30. One of the songs Karen will be leading during our worship time tomorrow is "Worthy of It All". You can listen to a live version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxL3-_VVIGQ...
The Cabool First Methodist Church has no affiliation with any Methodist denomination (or, for that matter, any denomination whatsoever). We’re a group of imperfect people but with a passionate desire to worship our creator and dig deep into God’s Word. Our contemporary worship is blended with hymns and choruses you may hear on Gaither Homecoming or Camp Meeting videos. I’m doing a sermon series (sort of football related) on God’s Game Plan. Tomorrow’s sermon is titled “Life in the Fast Lane”. Come a few minutes early, grab a doughnut and a cup of coffee and meet some of the finest people anywhere. See you tomorrow!

Good morning! I tried to thank each person who wished me a happy birthday but I may have missed a few. Thank you so much for taking time on a holiday weekend to say "Happy Birthday". Eighteen holes of golf with Mike Morrison, Don Wilbanks and Nicholas Wilbanks. Cookout with hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, sausages and all the fixings! Sides like baked beans and potato salad. Desserts included blackberry cobbler, blackberry birthday cake, chocolate brownies and a couple of pies. Followed up the meal with board games and a lot of laughter! Thanks, everyone, especially Glenda Davis Plumlee and Tonya Plumlee Morrison for all your hard work.

Today I get to celebrate a little more by spending a couple of hours with my church family at the First Methodist Church in Cabool. If you don't have a home church we'd love for you to visit us. We've got some great music (Freddy Casstevens and choir) and an open, welcoming congregation. It doesn't matter what is going on in your life, "You are not only welcome, but you are wanted".

Tomorrow it's time to head to Arkansas to celebrate once again as my side of the family gets together. Tuesday, I will go on a diet and hit the gym. I promise. Sort of.

Happy Father's Day Eve! We're home and I'm planning on ministering at our Cabool First Methodist Church in the morning. The title of my Father's Day sermon is "I Don't Get No Respect" (yes, I know that's a double negative but, despite the grammar, it remains the title...LOL). It's a part of our sermon series on "The Patients of Job" (yes, patients, not patience).

Thank you for your prayers and encouraging words while I was in the hospital this week. Glenda kept you updated and I think I got a chance to "love" all your comments. You are appreciated! Special thanks to my family (Glenda Davis Plumlee, Tonya Plumlee Morrison Trent Plumlee) who supported me, gave sacrificially, and constantly boosted my spirits. Thanks to Hank Grosenbacher for taking the time and trip to St. Louis to allow us to have some much needed fellowship with one of the great leaders of our church. Thanks to Sam Adams, an old friend, who dropped by and spent a few hours reminiscing about stuff that's happened over the past fifty years. Thanks to the staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for your concern and awesome medical skills. Please share this post in case I may miss someone.

And, last but not least, thanks to God for his love, mercy, and healing power! If you don't have a home church I invite you to our service tomorrow at 10:30. We're located at 501 Paul Street in Cabool, MO. You will not find a more loving and accepting group of people with whom to spend your Sunday morning. Our choir is scheduled to sing a special accompanied on the piano by the incomparable Freddy Casstevens.

Good morning from Cabool First Methodist Church. I really hate to do this but the streets leading to the church are covered with water and we feel it is wise to err on the side of caution and dismiss service this morning. All of our rural members are probably experiencing the same problem in their locations. Stay safe and remember my family in your prayers as we travel to St. Louis tomorrow. I'll be going through an infusion treatment because of the chronic rejection I'm having. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

If you want to attend an Easter Service this Sunday, but you don't have a home church, I want to invite you to our Easter service at the First Methodist Church in Cabool, MO. You will be blessed by special music from the FMC Choir and their accompanist, Freddy Casstevens. The Easter sermon is titled "The Place I Belong". The service will be followed by an Easter Egg hunt (two divisions). We're located at 501 Paul Street in Cabool. The morning worship service begins at 10:30. We would love to see you this Easter. Feel free to share this post.

Made it home! Special thanks to Tonya Plumlee Morrison and Glenda Davis Plumlee for hanging out with me all day. Tonya drove the car and Glenda steered me by my elbows to keep me from tripping on the painted lines while I was just a tad bit stoned…lol. Thanks for all the prayers, especially the prayer, love and support from my church family. Every result to this point was wonderful but won’t know about any rejection for a few days. Have a great night! Love you all!

I’m unbelievably grateful for so much and for so many people today. One year ago today I was waiting my turn to have a double lung transplant. The Barnes Jewish Hospital lung transplant team was busy performing the first transplant of the day. Mine was scheduled for the afternoon. They average one lung transplant a week but this week they would do four in a four day span. Someone had chosen to donate their organs and I was fortunate to have found a match. I’m so grateful to the family who was grieving their loss while I and my family were rejoicing. It doesn’t seem fair but life is rarely fair. I’m so grateful for BJH. The transplant team, the ICU team, the doctors, the incredibly dedicated nurses (one who took on extra shifts so she could take care of me), and all the staff, from those bringing my food to those cleaning up after I tried to eat the food…lol! I’m grateful to GMR (Air Evac) for their love and support during this time and recovery period. I’m grateful for all the love and support from friends and family, their prayers and encouragement. I’m grateful to the First Methodist Church in Cabool for taking a chance on me by asking me to serve as their pastor when my future is so uncertain. (I guess everyone’s is a bit uncertain.) I’m so grateful for my immediate family who took on this journey and never complained, no matter how difficult I was. I’m grateful to God who somehow made this possible. I’ll never understand why I’m still here and healthy, while others much more deserving than I, are still sick or maybe even passed. Just know I’m feeling overwhelmed today because of all the love I’ve received!

REMINDER! Tomorrow evening beginning at 6 p.m. The music will include piano stylings and arrangements from the incomparable Freddy Casstevens and wonderful vocals from William Randolph (maybe Carla Mizer Randolph if Billy can talk her into singing some backup). We will miss Jeremy Emery on vocals and percussion but his kids are playing in a basketball tournament tomorrow.

They say, "Great minds think alike". We'll find out who thinks like you during the "Match Game". So you think you have a friend who knows you so well they can actually finish your sentences for you. Let's test this when you and your BFF play the Delicious/Nasty Game (Password with a twist). Then there's the Generation Gap Game where grandparents and grand kids compete against other grandparent/grand-kid combinations. (If you don't have a grandparent or a grand kid at the event, adopt one for the night!)

And, if you have no other reason to show up, come for the finger foods and desserts! We have amazing cooks at FMC!
