We are a Fun and Diverse church with a Heart for Mission! The United Church of Byron will provide a spiritual atmosphere where everyone is welcome to worship God and to experience Jesus Christ through ministry, fellowship and community outreach by offering opportunities for learning and involvement for all ages. WHEREAS, our members are people of faith who believe each of us in need of God’s love, guidance and grace. THEREFORE, be it resolved that we are Open and Affirming (ONA) to all people who seek God’s blessing, regardless of ability, age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or national origin. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, we commit ourselves to the continuing process of understanding God’s intentions for us as human beings, proclaiming and sharing God’s extravagant welcome in this place for all people.

Brighter Together / Sunday School Kickoff/ September 13 at 10am (special early start time).
A brand-new Sunday School year is about to begin, and we can't wait to celebrate with you! Join us for Brighter Together, a colorful morning filled with laughter, creativity, worship, games, and friendship as we kick off an exciting year of growing in faith together. Whether you have been part of our Sunday School for years or you are visiting for the very first time, there is a place for you here. Invite a friend, wear your brightest colors, and join us for this unforgettable kickoff celebration. Everyone is invited to join in the fun (adults included!) by wearing their brightest, boldest and most mismatched colors! The more colorful the better. Let's start the year Brighter Together! We Can't Wait to Celebrate With You! Open to children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

And following the 10:30 worship, we will be having a “picnic” potluck inside. Deacons will be supplying brats, hot dogs, drinks (water, iced tea, lemonade and pop), and table service. We ask that everyone else please bring a dish to pass. There will also be games (some for outside) and other activities.

Later that day, Youth Groups will begin again.

United Church of Byron is doing free drive thru meals again today (8/18). This is open to all and no reservations are required, just come by between 5:30- 6:30p.
Menu: Chicken Pattie Sandwich, fruit, snack and a treat.
We are always looking for volunteers, if you are interested in helping contact the church office at 815-234-8777.
This can be used for community service for the high school.
You can support this program by dropping of donations at the church during office hours or when meals are being served.
