🔥TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS — DON’T MISS SUNDAY SCHOOL THIS WEEK! 🔥
This Sunday at Hardison Baptist Church we’re studying the life of Simon Peter! 🎣📖
Peter wasn’t perfect — he was bold, impulsive, afraid at times, and made mistakes… yet God still used him in a powerful way! 🙌
Personal History
A resident of Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee, Simon Peter was a commercial fisherman before Jesus called him to be a disciple.
In a discussion between Jesus and his disciples (Matthew 16:13-19), Jesus asks, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” The disciples give various answers. When he asks, “Who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answers, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
At the Last Supper, Jesus foretold that Peter would deny him 3 times before the c**k crowed. Following his resurrection, Jesus reinstated Peter (John 21:15-19).
Apart from Jesus himself, Simon Peter is the only other person known to have walked on water! (Matthew 14:22-34)
We’ll talk about:
⚡ How Jesus called Peter
🌊 Peter walking on water
❌ Peter denying Jesus
❤️ Jesus restoring him
🔥 Peter becoming a fearless preacher for Christ
✝️ How Peter stayed faithful to Jesus even unto death
History tells us Peter was martyred for preaching Christ and chose to be crucified upside down because he did not feel worthy to die the same way as Jesus. What an example of faith and devotion. 🙏
🕊️ “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” — Matthew 4:19
