As a church family, we believe the spiritual growth of our children and teens matters deeply. We invite our entire community to join us in praying for our Sunday School, Middle, and High School students this week — that they would grow in wisdom, faith, and confidence in who God has created them to be. Pray that their hearts would be rooted in truth, that they would be bold in kindness, and that they would continue to discover God’s love in real and personal ways. Your prayers make an eternal difference.

Today our Sunday Schoolers opened our bible to Genesis and started from the very beginning as we explored how God made everything around us. We talk about the time and effort we have to put in to create something new; be that a drawing, a craft or something bigger like a wood working project or crocheting! We created dice to play a simple game about creation in the coming weeks and had an opportunity to build our favorite thing in nature out of Lego bricks!

Everyone K - 5th grade is welcomed at Sunday School here at United Church of Byron. We meet every Sunday following the children's message in worship until the end of Worship in the church basement. Snacks and drinks are provided and parents/guardians are welcome to join us to help ease their child into Sunday School.

Please reach out if you have any questions; we would be happy to answer them for you.

This week’s lessons encouraged students to pray intentionally and rethink what it means to live justly according to God.

Sunday School

Reflection Challenge: Spend a few minutes this week praying together as a family. You can thank God, ask for help, or pray for someone else. Talk about how it felt to share your prayers aloud.

Middle/High School

Reflection Challenge: This week, look for a situation where you can act justly or show fairness, even when it’s not easy. Pray about it first, then take action. Reflect afterward on how prayer helped you respond.

Small prayers and just actions can make a big difference—notice the impact and share if you want!

This week in Sunday School and Youth, our students explored lessons about prayer and justice, and how God teaches us to live differently than the world expects.

Sunday School

1) What is one thing you like to talk to God about when you pray?
2) How can praying help you when you feel worried, happy, or unsure?

Middle/High School

1) God flips the world’s idea of justice. What does that look like in your school, neighborhood, or home?
2) How does prayer help you think about fairness, forgiveness, or doing the right thing?

These questions are designed to help families reflect on this week’s lesson and spark meaningful conversations at home.

Raising up the next generation of believers is something we do together. We invite our entire community to join us in praying for our Sunday School, Middle, and High School students this week. Pray that they would grow in confidence, compassion, and a strong foundation of faith. When a church surrounds its young people with prayer, encouragement, and support, it shapes lives in lasting ways. Thank you for being part of that investment.

This week’s lessons encouraged students to share generously and rethink what it means to live “good enough” in God’s eyes.

Sunday School

Reflection Challenge: Pick one thing to share with someone this week. It could be a toy, a snack, your time, or simply a kind word. At the end of the week, talk together about how it felt to give and what you noticed in others.

Middle/High School

Reflection Challenge: Think of a situation this week where your actions could exceed “what’s expected.” Practice generosity, forgiveness, or extra kindness, and reflect on how it impacted you and those around you.

Small actions and generous hearts make a big difference—share your experiences if you’d like!

This week in Sunday School and Youth, our students explored lessons about giving and generosity, and what it really means to live in God’s way.

Sunday School

1) What are some ways we can share with others, even when it’s something small?
2) How does it feel when someone shares with you?

Middle/High School

1) Jesus challenges our idea of what “good enough” really is. What does that mean to you in your daily life?
2) When is it hardest to show generosity, kindness, or forgiveness, and why?

These questions are designed to help families reflect on this week’s lesson and spark meaningful conversations at home.

Prayer is one of the most powerful ways we can support the next generation. This week, we invite you to intentionally pray for our Sunday School, Middle, and High School students. Ask the Lord to deepen their faith, guide their decisions, and draw them closer to Him each day. Pray that they would know they are loved by God and supported by a church family that believes in them. Your prayers matter more than you know.

After a few weeks off we are excited to bring back our sermon recap lessons on Sunday mornings starting 2/29/26.

What part of last week’s sermon stuck with you the most? Bring your thoughts, questions, and curiosity this Sunday as we dig deeper into God’s Word and keep the theme and lessons of the sermon fresh in our minds.

We’re excited to bring back Sermon Recap for all Middle & High Schoolers!

When: Sunday at 10:00 AM (~25 minutes)
What to Expect:

Breakfast – Fuel up before the discussion

Fellowship – Hang out with friends in a relaxed setting

Dig into God’s Word – Explore the sermon and see how it applies to your life

No prior attendance required! You don’t have to have been at worship last week (or ever) to join. This is a space for curious teens who want to strengthen their faith, ask questions, and grow in understanding.

Come hungry for both food and conversation—we can’t wait to see you there!

Let us know if you plan to attend, drop a comment or send us a message (we want to make sure we have enough breakfast for everyone!)
