Can you help us out? Our Middle schoolers want to make their own Ice cream and we decided let's make it even more fun. We are hoping to have an 'Ice Cream cook off' one week where kids will make their own ice-cream and incorporate mystery flavors. For this to work we will need a minimum of 2 ice-cream makers (the more we have the smaller the teams can be.

These sell for about $40.00 on amazon. If you are looking for ways to support our youth this could be a great way of doing so.

As August rolls to an end and the 'Ber' months start (my favorite time of the year!) we wanted to share just a little bit about what we have coming up in September for Sunday School.

September 6th - No Sunday School
September 13th - Fall Kick off (Brighter Together)
September 20th - Animated Week 1
September 27th - Animated Week 2

Sunday School is open to everyone K - 5th grade and we meet almost every week following the children's message in worship.

Parents are welcome to join us downstairs in the Sunday School Room or remain upstairs and worship with the congregation.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us via message, email ([email protected]) or call the church office during regular office hours.

No matter where you and your family are on your faith journey everyone is welcome to be part of the growing community that is Sunday School at United Church of Byron.

United Church of Byron's Community Connections team is seeking donations of supplies for 'Birthday Boxes.'

These boxes will contain the basics to throwing a simple birthday party; Box cake, frosting, balloons, streamers, candles, plates, napkins, and a can of soda (which replaces the oil and water needed in most box cake mixes and delivers a wonderfully moist cake.)

It is our intention to make these boxes availble to the public to help out families in a small way.

Donations can be dropped off at United Church of Byron during regular office hours. Once we have boxes assembled we will let the community know they are available and people can collect boxes as needed.

As a church family, we believe the spiritual growth of our children and teens matters deeply. We invite our entire community to join us in praying for our Sunday School, Middle, and High School students this week — that they would grow in wisdom, faith, and confidence in who God has created them to be. Pray that their hearts would be rooted in truth, that they would be bold in kindness, and that they would continue to discover God’s love in real and personal ways. Your prayers make an eternal difference.

Today our Sunday Schoolers opened our bible to Genesis and started from the very beginning as we explored how God made everything around us. We talk about the time and effort we have to put in to create something new; be that a drawing, a craft or something bigger like a wood working project or crocheting! We created dice to play a simple game about creation in the coming weeks and had an opportunity to build our favorite thing in nature out of Lego bricks!

Everyone K - 5th grade is welcomed at Sunday School here at United Church of Byron. We meet every Sunday following the children's message in worship until the end of Worship in the church basement. Snacks and drinks are provided and parents/guardians are welcome to join us to help ease their child into Sunday School.

Please reach out if you have any questions; we would be happy to answer them for you.

This week’s lessons encouraged students to pray intentionally and rethink what it means to live justly according to God.

Sunday School

Reflection Challenge: Spend a few minutes this week praying together as a family. You can thank God, ask for help, or pray for someone else. Talk about how it felt to share your prayers aloud.

Middle/High School

Reflection Challenge: This week, look for a situation where you can act justly or show fairness, even when it’s not easy. Pray about it first, then take action. Reflect afterward on how prayer helped you respond.

Small prayers and just actions can make a big difference—notice the impact and share if you want!
