inSpirit Kids We believe every child is made in the image of God and has the potential for a better future if they know what it means to love God and be loved by God.

inSpirit Family Ministries goal is to help kids learn to make smarter and wiser decisions, develop strong relationships, and have a deeper faith. Our strategy is to organize what we teach around what Jesus said and did, to teach in a fun and relevant way that engages the kids in whatever life-stage they are in, to treat the kids with love and respect, and to give the parents the tools they need to reinforce what we do on Sunday throughout the rest of the week at home. We pray the the children growing up in this ministry will develop an authentic faith and learn to trust Jesus in a way that transforms how they love God, themselves, and others. We are here to partner with families. We provide a safe place where kids feel loved, accepted, and encouraged by emphasizing the need for community and intergenerational relationships. We are also here for the parents, providing help and resources when you find yourselves in the midst of parenting challenges.

Our pre-teen group has been working through the story of David and on Sunday they learned about repentance.

Encourage your child to spend some quiet time on their own or with you doing the following: Read Psalm 51. What do the verses mean to you? Rewrite the psalm using your own words as a prayer to God. Then draw a picture to illustrate the verse with pictures. For example, show a person kneeling down in prayer or a person looking sad about committing a sin.

This weekend our preschoolers talked about what it means to listen and obey - two concepts that can be hard for preschoolers!

Ask your preschooler: What did God ask Abraham and Sarah to do?
Did Abraham and Sarah listen? Did they obey?

Then explain to your child that you want to obey God too! They need to know that kids aren’t the only ones who should listen and obey! Help them sense your desire to obey because you love and serve our great God.

This weekend our K-3rd graders learned about God's faithfulness through the story of Noah.

At dinner this week, ask your child to imagine moving day for the animals. Did Noah’s family have to chase any inside? Invite them to draw a picture of how they think it looked and bring it back to church with you next week!

This week our K-3rd graders heard the sad story of how sin spoiled God’s beautiful world. But we also learned that God still loved the world he made, and when we trust in Jesus, he takes away all our sin and forgives us for all the wrong we do.

At bedtime or in the car, ask: “Can you think of a time you did something wrong but someone forgave you? How did that make you feel?”

Then connect it back to the lesson: “God loves us even when we sin. Jesus makes forgiveness possible!”

🍂Fall is officially in full swing! We kicked off the season with the Creation Story in our Pre-K through third grade groups. Our elementary kids focused on taking care of God's world. We had fun practicing being on "God's Crew" and learned how we are all connected. Being connected makes us stronger, because we can work together to do God's work in the world! As a family, what are some ways you can commit to caring for God's world this week? If you go on an evening stroll to enjoy some cool fresh air, bring a bag and pair of gloves to pick up any trash along the way (safety tip: be mindful of anything that could be sharp).

Teachers are super heroes! 🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏼‍♂️

The work teachers do today matters for eternity.

Prayer: Thank you God for the men and women who invest in the future of our children! Give teachers and educators wisdom, creativity, and discernment as they lead others this year. Remind them that they are not alone and their work is not in vain. Move in close, Lord, and let them sense Your presence and Your delight. Amen.

GOD IS WITH YOU! 🦁

Daniel was in a scary place surrounded by lions. But he wasn't alone. God was with him in the den.

And when you're scared, worried, or facing something hard, you can remember: God is with me, too! ❤️

Little voices shouting “Hosanna!” 🌿

Our kids had such a joyful time celebrating Palm Sunday together! We waved palm branches as we remembered how Jesus entered Jerusalem.

Although his friends left him, Jesus chose to face arrest and trial. Our second and third graders learned this week how Judas, Peter, and the other disciples disappointed Jesus.

Ask your child if they think they've ever disappointed Jesus by the things they do and say.

Then celebrate that Jesus willingly followed the way to the cross anyways! Praise Jesus for willingly choosing to suffer for us.

Rahab believed in God and helped God's people. Play a fun game of "I Spy" with your kindergartener or first grader, then share a story about how you have also trusted in God’s great power in your own life or about a way that God has taken care of you and your family.
