For 2026 we hope to embark on reading the Bible together, following the One Book One Body reading schedule, along with a dozen other churches in the Byron Center area. You can read more details on www.onebookonebody.org. The blessing and the benefit for us as a church family is that we will all be on the same page together, AND, we will be on the same page with other Christians from other local congregations.
There are several ways that we can engage with God's word through OBOB.
First, you can download, or we will print out, either the complete 1 year schedule, or, you can check out the monthly schedule, which will be much more legible, and come with some simple accompanying questions. There are also reading plans for children, with other accompanying questions. These could be used for family devotions and more.
Second: You can also use the Bible app, which is free for whatever platform you use (apple, samsung) and join the actual reading plan which I have started for our church. I will post the link that you can click on, or the QR code that you can scan with your phone's camera, to install or join. That will make it easy if you use the Bible app for any bible reading.
Third, I know that our men's Bible study which will be meeting on Thursday nights (changed from Tuesday nights), beginning in the new year, January 8, will use the reading of the day as the basis for our Bible study. If you are interested in participating in, or perhaps even leading a small group yourself, please let Pastor Rick know, or ask him about how you might use the reading plan in your current small group. We want to be able to promote Bible reading, fellowship, and prayer together as we engage as the one body reading one Book!
Lastly, I'm working out how we can incorporate some of the bible reading schedule into the yearly preaching schedule.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. May we strive to grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ together!
