A Lunchtime Devotional

"This is the day the LORD has made;
let’s rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 118:24

I'm not always the biggest fan of winter, I've always been a spring person. It's so easy for me to rejoice in the spring. And it's wonderful that there are times when it's easy to rejoice. But there are some days where we might wonder if there's really anything worth rejoicing over. That's how I sometimes feel during the winter months! But God is much wiser, and He places something beautiful in each day and every season, in the good times and in the bad times. That's why James reminds us that He is the source of every "good and perfect gift", both the obvious blessings and the not-so-obvious blessings come from God.

Today on the this snowy afternoon, let's keep our hearts open to the good things God is doing in the world and even in the snow around us. Every day, there is something worth rejoicing about, especially when you're God's child. Let's watch for every good and perfect gift, so we can turn it into praise sent up to our Father. And by praising, we're brought that much closer to Him.
