Summer is coming in Waumba Land, and we’re planning to make it ⚡SUPER!⚡Join us for our SUPER FRIENDS summer as we learn how to be good friends!

And starting this Sunday, we’re giving every preschooler a set of these Super Friend cuffs, so they can suit up and be a super friend wherever they go!

It will be a heroic summer in Waumba Land. Don’t let your little hero miss it!

Summer is the best, but sometimes it’s hard to think of things to do with your kids. Especially things that don’t cost any money! Here is a list of FREE things to do this summer that your preschooler will love.

☀️What would you add? ☀️

-Make popsicles (there are so many great recipes online)
-Play hop scotch (use sidewalk chalk or hula hoops to make your “boxes”)
-Read a new book (spend an hour at the bookstore and have your own story time)
-Make pressed flowers (see how many colors of flowers you can find)
-Have a picnic (let your child choose the foods you take)
-Go to the library (check out your library’s website for fun events)
-Paint rocks
-Wash the cars, bikes, etc.
-Visit a new park/playground (check out your city’s website for nearby parks)

We often forget what the goal of parenting is, don’t we?

We make parenting about things that don’t really matter in the long run. We make it about good grades or good behavior. We make it about success in sports or extracurricular activities. We make it about things we can measure.

Though each of these things is important, they’re not the MOST important thing. The MOST important thing we should focus on is being a picture of God to our kids. Because the truth is, for better or for worse, when our kids grow up and think about God, they’re probably going to see him through the lens of how we treated them.

Did we teach them, through our example, about forgiveness and grace? Did we teach them about love? Did we teach them about righteousness, service, and generosity?

The goal of parenting isn’t to create perfect kids. It’s to point our kids to the perfect God.

Make learning this month’s verse FUN with your preschooler! Practice the motions together, and once they’ve got them down, take the 👏 to the next level. Clap with pillows, spatulas, tub toys, drumsticks… the louder, the better!

We think the more the verse gets repeated, the “stickier” it becomes. And knowing God will always take care of you is something we hope sticks with them forever!

Being a parent is arguably one of the most terrifying, difficult, emotional, humbling, and trying experiences of a person’s life. But it’s also incredibly rewarding, fulfilling, exciting, and refining at the same time.

In the midst of every emotion that parenting brings, don’t forget that these are some of the best years of your life! One day, you will look back with fondness at pictures of your tiny children and wish you could hold their little hands one more time.

God takes care of us! Preschoolers love music and it’s one of the best ways for them to learn. Have fun celebrating by having a dance party right in your living room!

1. Play some fun Waumba Land music (check out our Spotify playlist for all your favorites).
2. Give your child a different dance challenge while they dance (ex. jump while you dance, twirl around three times, shake your hands up high/down low).
3. Stop the music, freeze, and shout, “God will take care of me!”
4. Play the music again and continue dancing, giving your preschooler a new dance challenge for each round.
