The devil's people will often call the Christian mean because the Christian is tearing down the gates of the evil one. They don't realize they are prisoners behind those gates, and the objective of the Christian is to set them free. Until they are free they will not know how awful their state was, and only then can they be grateful for the actions of believers.

I've been thinking the last couple of days how some people hate the Bible. Since the Bible is Holy Spirit breathed, it appears those haters hate God. What do you think? Pastor Dave, Grace Harvest Church, Burton Michigan.

Psalm 118:18 tells us that the Holy Spirit chastened David sore. In our vernacular, The Holy Spirit reprimanded him to the point he was grieved. I don't think David considered that he was bringing God into all the bad things he did. The God doesn't like being there in the midst of wrongdoing. This was recorded in scriptures to remind us if we are truly a child of God, he will disturb our peace if we sin. - Pastor Dave, Grace Harvest Church, Burton Michigan

I keep hearing about Christians who believe that keeping the law is necessary for salvation. The early church faced the same controversy, but it was settled in Acts chapter 15. The Holy Ghost stated if a Christian refrains from meat offered to idols, don't fornicate, don't ingest any blood, and don't eat anything that met it's doom by strangulation, the Christian is doing pretty good. We are not under the law for righteousness sake, we live under a new covenant.

Mark 6: 1-3 is interesting. The narrative features Jesus coming to people who should have been excited to see him. The locals spoke to each other about how much wisdom He shared, and how many miracles He performed. Their reaction was astounding: they were offended. The proverb is true, "those in darkness hate the light."

I was watching a video of a religious leader talking about man's efforts to reach God. He thought all efforts were worth trying. What he did not grasp is the message of the Bible. The Bible does not speak of man's diligence to find God, but rather God's extreme efforts to reach man. Pastor Dave, Grace Harvest Church, Burton Michigan

Ezekiel 18:20 tells us the soul that sins shall die. This is the law of sin and death pronounced by God which applies to all people. Now what? Every person on Earth, every age, every nationality has sinned. God doesn't want anyone to die, so the Father sent his Son Jesus to die for us on the cross. Did it work? Romans 8:2 gives us the answer. "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Just as federal law overrides local law here in the United States, the death of Jesus overrides all the curses of the Old Covenant. The first commandment demands that we have no other God, [priority or something of value], before our creator. How many church goers have checked themselves to see where they stand? Have you ever gone out to eat with a friend or family member who at the end of the meal misses the joy of the experience. Something was over or undercooked by 30 seconds, the waiting time for the food was 15 minutes instead of 12. The restaurant was a couple degrees too chilly or too warm which causes them to get upset, ruining their day out. We as Christians need to stop expecting everything in our lives to be ideal. We live a life of assurance that God has known what was coming in our lives and allowed it to happen. We know our place in heaven is secure, yet we don't dwell on our blessings but sometimes succumb to bitterness. These things should not be. - Pastor Dave, Grace Harvest Church, Burton Michigan.

I have met so many people who are convinced that they are filled with the Spirit, yet they have no gentleness in them; does that make sense?
