StuMin put their faith into action last night! They packed meals for the Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack. It’s great to see our youth joining our congregation in this amazing effort to feed kids all around the world!

Have you ever felt out of place or like you didn’t belong? Maybe you were the new kid at school or on your team. Even if everyone was kind and welcoming in that environment, you still came in as the new kid, making belonging feel like a challenge. Here’s some good news: When we feel that way, we can look back to the very first Christmas to realize that Jesus has been there, too. A threat to King Herod, who wanted all the power, the Kid had to flee to the small town of Nazareth to hide. He was the new Kid in a new place with new people. He found His belonging not in others but in God and those who followed God. So, when we struggle to find our place, we can remember the same is true for us, too!

As you continue to work on memorizing these verses, remember that God has a plan for you right where you are.

December 10, 2024

When you think about the day Jesus was born, how do you picture it? It’s easy to think this moment was filled with grand celebrations. Surely, everybody in the small town of Bethlehem was fighting for the chance to welcome this Kid and his family. But that wasn’t the case at all! Jesus, the Son of God, was born in a humble setting with little fanfare or excitement. His arrival looked a lot less grand than what you would expect for someone who would become the Savior of the world. The great thing about this is that how Jesus was born doesn’t change why Jesus was born. Though His arrival was seemingly small, His mission was not. From that very first breath, Jesus lived to save us, and that’s exactly what He did!

Today, read more about Jesus’ arrival to the world in Luke 2. Pay attention to the parts of His story that take you by surprise and the parts that comfort you.
