Copy/pasted from Lisa Bell ❤️ I wanted to share here because it’s beautiful and I feel like as a woman, a mom, and a wife, this is me a lot of the time and it might resonate with you guys and maybe be a blessing to you, too.
It's hard to sit still when we are waiting for an outcome.
It's hard to keep our fingers from typing back when we are outraged.
It's hard to keep the words from spilling out of our mouths when we are upset.
It's hard to sit still.
My heart stopped on Exodus 14:14 this evening:
"The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."
It's hard to hold our peace.
But He is fighting for us and when we keep squirming around and flailing our arms and spewing out words to try and get the outcome we want, He's gently whispering:
"Hold your peace.
I'm fighting for you.
I've got it."
There are so many people out there making so much noise and fighting for what they believe is right.
I think that is great, but I also think we are given reminders in Scripture to "be still" for a reason:
Because it's not all about us.
God has plans we don't yet know about.
In case you need a reminder to sink into His calm tonight:
"Be still and know that I am God..." -Psalm 46:10
You might not know the outcome of what you are fighting for, but He does.
Let Hm fight for you.
Hold your peace.
Be still.
Trust Him.
