One of our members wrote these precious psalms to the Lord and wanted to share them with the Body of Christ.
Eclogue 1
A cry for mercy for the hungry sheep.
¶ I have laughed scornfully at those whom proclaimed their faith in the invisible God. Now You are my God, and I see many whom have fallen away from faith in You, O’ Lord, by reason of trusting in their own desires.
But You, my God, have stretched out Your merciful arm to me, giving comfort to my dying soul because of its reproach of what is fleeting.
Now O’ God, You have caused me great fear, and I see but a few that have found Your faith, by reason of evidence through seeking with desperation.
The remnant is now filled; truly satisfied and with the knowledge of You, O’ my God.
Changed O’ Lord, from presumption of wisdom in that which is but as a breeze: cool and lovely for a moment, but gone without name; never to be known again.
God, even You, O my God; give ear to those who cry out to Your Holy name. LORD, You draw near to those who seek Your face.
Let Your glory shine in their heart, that they might be satisfied by Your presence, that You might now be known to them.
Tarrie not, my God; for who O’ Lord, of this generation might sing Your praises? Will your name be lost to those who seek?
Will Your peace be without a home? When the stranger is hungry and searchest Your grace, will they starve?
Surely not, O’ LORD! Your riches are without end; Your storehouse is full; the loving kindness of Yours is open to those who seek You.
Let them see Your glory, O’ my God; let them weep for the contempt in their heart. Let Your enemies be brought to nought O’ LORD, made as a footstool for Your bruised heel.
May we feast together, my Lord; may we find Your mercy and find never again the fruitless tree.
Because of Your fury which is sharper than any two-edge sword, which has cut that tree low. It is fell, and the beasts of the wilderness have eaten its fruit.
Now, O’ Lord, let us bow before You, giving thanks to Your strength. Let Your angels who do not rest sing “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!”
